Anyone have a KOBO eReader?

I'm looking at eReaders and have it narrowed down to a sony or a Kobo. (Kindle is out b/c I want to get books from the library and Nook is out b/c I have a long standing dislike of B&N).

So, does anyone have a Kobo? Do you like it? Hate it? Would you recommend it? Anything you particularly love or hate about it? Does it have good features?

We don't have a Borders nearby so I can't go play with one, so I'm hoping some people have personal experiences.

Thanks!

I saw the Kobo on display at my local Staples, maybe you can play with it there.

I don't know anyone who has one. I looked into the KOBO, briefly. The one I looked at didn't have 3G or Wi-Fi, and for me that was a deal breaker. Are all of the KOBO models designed that way? FWIW I'm going with a Nook, but I understand if you have an aversion to B&N.

Not yet... but I'm hoping one appears on Dec. 25 for me! ;) I checked out all of the options, too, and liked the Kobo best for my personal preferences. I couldn't care less about WiFi or 3G - I have an iPhone and laptop for that. I just want a book that runs on a battery; no frills.

I also played with one at Borders, and it felt much more comfortable in-hand than either the Kindle or Nook. I love the absence of buttons all over the place, so I can hold it a variety of ways.

It'll run the full range of ebooks that interest me, as well as library access when and if my local library ever gets on that bandwagon. And it has a nice price plus good reviews. :thumbsup2

The new version of the Kobo has WiFi.

I've played around with it some. My main complaint is no page forward/back buttons on the right hand side. I like those on both sides of the reader so I can hold it in either hand and easily move through the book with just a click.

I personally don't like touchscreens at all but I think the newer Sony's are nicer than the older ones.

Kobobooks is one of my favorite stores to buy from though. They have a current $3 off coupon.

I love the absence of buttons all over the place, so I can hold it a variety of ways.

and see - I'm just the opposite. I want lots of buttons.
