Anyone have a Honda Pilot?

we were going to buy a pilot but then we wanted both the DVD player and the navigation system, which you couldn't get. we ended up getting an Acura MDX, which is really the higher end of of Honda Pilot and we love it! It of course was more expensive, but definitely worth it. When we trade in our 2nd car though, we're going to get a pilot I think....thats not for awhile though.

we went to look at the Pilot but then we saw the Element. The Element is soooooo cool! When you first see it, it looks a little weird. It's also weird that there's no carpet inside, but the longer you have it you realize how much easier it is to clean. You just sweep it out. Plus there's SO much room. It's really nice, you should check it out while you're at the Honda dealership. The people at our Honda dealership were the nicest dealers we talked to. We were also looking at a Nissan Xterra and a Saturn Vue. The people at Saturn were down right rude and the people at Nissan just didn't seem to care about getting our buisness. The Honda people were actually nice to us, not our money or our buisness. When we were trying to decide between two different models (one of them was loaded as opposed to another that just had the basics) they actually pushed us to buy the CHEAPER one since it was closer to what our current car payments were. They were really nice to us and I now reccomend Honda to anyone looking for a new car.

Just on my way home from work about an hour ago....I saw a Honda Element.....yes, it is VERY different looking.....I actually don't really care for its looks.......

We just bought the Pilot last Friday. And we love, love, love it! :teeth: I did a ton of research before we even drove any cars, and the Pilot was the best on paper (low maintenance, bigger, safer, good gas mileage for an SUV, etc). I wanted it before we even drove it. And then we drove it and I was completely in love. It's incredibly roomy, with lots of places for things. And it drives like a car, not a truck, which was something we were looking for. The third row is really not big enough for adults, but we're looking at it more for the future kids. And the back! So roomy! The third row folds really flat, so you can't tell at all.

The only downside I've found is that there's no antenna, so I have no place for my Mickey toppers. :earsboy:

Oh, and we got leather with no additionally accessories. DH wanted the nav system, but we ended up buying a portable one for thousands less than it would have cost to have it already in the car.

I do. I have put almost 17K miles on it in 10 months. It is very comfortable, still looks brand new, and is a great family car. I've read on a Pilot board that some people have traded '03s in for '04s and the trade in value was really really high. They are holding their value nicely. It is very highly rated by Consumer Reports and other automotive magazines.

My only consistant complaint is pretty poor gas mileage, but I'm constantly picking up children from one place and dropping them off someplace else, so maybe it is just to be expected.

I don't think you would be disappointed.

I think the really good thing about almost all Hondas is that their trade-in value is really good.

We're thinking of buying one and can't decide on the color. We're not sure we want car payments again.

Just bumping this up because I drove my Pilot through the snow yesterday, across a mountain, and it handled VERY nicely. :teeth: Definitely going to be glad we have it when we move to Washington State!
