Anyone have a great family cell phone plan?

We're considering changing our cell phone carrier and wanted input on what plans people have and how they like or dislike them. Thanks for taking the time!

We have 2 phones on the Verizon Family Plan. I have had my current contract for 23 months. The thing I like best---- I've NEVER received a bill for higher than the amount I was told when I signed up. That said-- I pay $69.35 each month for the 2 phones. We've taken them all over the country-- and made many calls. I only had a problem once getting a signal and that was in the moutains of West Virginia-- oh and once in awhile in a Walmart store!!

we have 2 lines in the alltel family plan, as well as our home phone as a wireless to wireless,, we like it. it works really good for us, we have not had any billing problems, we do have a few areas where the alltel service isnt as good as some of the others, but its worked well for us at the hospital in jackson , even at the river in oklahoma last weekend when verizon was out of there dw was able to use her phone in spots.

Depending on where you are in IL, US Cellular is great. I have used them for years and just aded Marie on with one, after her AT&T ended.They have a wonderful plan offer now, ending July 3 for new sign ups.

I use Sprint and am happy with it. I use it alot for work (get to expense it) so I pay $100 a month for 2000 anytime minutes, unlimited nights and weekends, and a second line (two phones sharing the plan)

DH has the second phone on this agreement, our calls to each other don't count towards the minutes so we generally use our cell phones over the home phone to talk to each other/DS, etc.

We also get unlimited nights and weekends and free long distance and dropped our home long distance service (actually, we have 50 minutes free long distance each month on our home phone with this cell phone agreement with Sprint, but we never use it)

I also like that Sprint just added a new thing (recently) where existing customers get the same sales and new customers. If your phone is 18 months old or older you can get the same rebates/specials as new service agreements. DH's phone is my old phone (3 years old and a few functions aren't working) so we're going to replace that one soon - will be able to replace mine after another 6 months or so, but doesn't need it.

They have a lot of different plan options and as I travel around the US for work, I like the wide network - rarely am I ever in "roaming" or no service.

We love our plan, but you can't have it. They discontinued it a long time ago. I just keep hoping they don't cancel us and force us into a newer plan.

We're with Cingular on their old Family plan. We have 4 phones and share 300 minutes. We pay $45/month. Can't beat that. Most people I know pay that much or more for just 1 phone.

We use our phones mainly for emergencies or very short conversations - Hi honey, I'll be home in 1/2 hour - that sort of thing. We don't walk around with the thing glued to our ear like so many folks today. And we NEVER use the phone while driving. 300 minutes is plenty for us. We never exceed that.

BF and I have T-Mobile, $69.99 per month for both lines. It comes with 800 anytime minutes, long distance, and free T-Mobile to T-Mobile calls (doesn't have to be with each other, it can be with friends who have T-Mobile, even in other states...one of our friends has a Florida T-Mobile and it's free to talk to her).

We haven't had any problems. They've worked everywhere I've travelled, LA, Vegas, Florida, Maine. The only place I didn't have any reception was Molokai, but almost no one's phone worked there!

Only once they added a charge for a service we didn't ask for. However, I e-mailed them and they reversed it right away without any problems.

we have cingular family plan and we love it. We pay $63 a month which is taxes, fees, everything and we get 2 phones, 500 anytime minutes, free nationwide long distange, roll-over minutes,free nights and weekends, text messaging. My DS used the extra phone when he was still in the US and would call us from all over the country and we never paid anything extra. I love the rollover minutes because the months he couldn't use the phone the minutes would just roll over and then we would have lots of minutes left when he could use the phone. Now my middle DS uses it when he travels this summer. Its cheaper than using the 800#.

We switched to Verizon from Cingular last fall. I've been very happy with Verizon, but I found with Cingular I just never knew how much the bill was actually going to be and we were forever getting roaming charges.

Our Verizon plan includes five phones, 400 daytime minutes, unlimited evening (after 9:00 p.m.) and weekend minutes, and no roaming charges. DS #3 goes to college in Hartford, CT, and for some reason we do get roaming charges for his phone use. Any time I've called about this, they apologize and drop the charges (it has something to do with the area the University of Hartford is in). We are also not charged minutes any time we call ANYONE with Verizon service. This works well for me as one of my dearest friends lives in Maine and we frequently have 'dog business' to take care of, especially now, as the dog show season is going full tilt! I love that I can call Judy and talk for an hour at no extra charge. The plan costs $120 a month, but remember -- we have five phones.

Having said all this, be warned: if one of the users is a teen-age daughter, she'll quickly use all 400 minutes to be shared by everyone in your plan. This can be resolved by temporarily removing her phone .....

We're with Verizon Wireless. We have three phones tied to the account and share 1200 peak minutes with unlimited cell-to-cell with anyone on the Verizon network and unlimited nights and weekends. We use that as our long distance, except to Canada/Europe, etc., as there are no lon distance charges in the US.

We pay $115 a month +/-, and just renewed the contract for another two years. We're really happy with their service and plan, we've had it for three years now.

We had Sprint before for a while, they were absolutely horrid--dropped calls, roaming charges, and every month the bill was messed up.

We have the Campbells plan. I gave each of the kids a Chicken Noodle soup can and a ball of string. So far it has worked out pretty well and only cost me about $0.94 (I had a coupon). I am a little worried about the national coverage though. I may have to go visit the worlds second largest ball of twine if my kids take their phones to college.
