Anyone have a GOOD experience at 1900PF for breakfast?

We loved our 1900 Park Fare breakfast in August.

Really enjoyed meeting "talking characters." It was a very different experience.

I must say--the strawberry soup WAS all that! And the kids really liked the ice cream too.

We're definitely going back to 1900 Park Fare next trip. Want to try the dinner then.

We usually just do counter service, but this is one meal we make an exception for every year. The kids love the characters, and the breakfast is so filling, we usually skip lunch. It's so nice, we've never felt rushed. I thought the food was decent--I'm not a big breakfast person (don't like eggs, sausage or bacon), but the mickey waffles and cinammon rolls were yummy. Lots of fresh fruit.

We were there in June and really enjoyed it. The food was really tasty, all your typical breakfast items, we went at the latest serving time so it was not crowded at all and we got a lot of character interaction and we don't have any children. Really a great time, I would definitely go back.

We have been to 1900 Park Fayre for breakfast twice and have really enjoyed it both times. The character interaction is great, especially if you get there when the restaurant has just opened or towards the end. There is a really good choice of food and it has always been fresh and tasty. The only thing that lacked slightly was the service on our last visit but we founf this quite a bit being a party of 2 young adults.

I love the 1900 Park Faire Breakfast!
This was my first taste of Disney and it was a great way to start off my very first trip! The characters are diverse and interesting, the food is yummy, and the Grand Floridian is gorgeous.

I would hands down reccomend this, ESPECIALLY if you're on the dining plan, or have kids who aren't that in to princesses. Alice and Mary need love too!

We've been two different times, most recently in September '08 and it was good both times. (You can find pictures in my trip reports...the older ones, not this current one) Now dinner on the other hand. It was wonderful before they reurbed in '07. Now it's gross! (Or at least it was when we went)

I don't know what reviews you are reading as I think 1900 pretty much consistently gets a thumbs up -- but to add my opinion - we eat there often and very much enjoy it.

Ok, here's my 2 cents...since I just ate there 2 days ago with DW, the DDs and DMom...

First, the characters: Pooh was there on arrival, followed shortly by Tigger...along came Mary Poppins, followed by the Mad Hatter and Alice. We had numerous visits with each, including several repeat photo ops with Pooh & Tigger (the favorites of our DDs)....I'm not really sure if DD1 even knew who Alice was (although we reminder her, it's not been one of her favorite movies)....and DD2 was just infatuated with Tigger....

Second, the food: Buffett was a variety of standard fare, with some twists and tweaks. Enjoyed the omelette station (I'm boring so I had a mushroom & assorted cheese omelette)...loved that they had kids' stations at lower heights with scrambled eggs with cheese, some breakfast pizza looking thing, breakfast potatoes, lots of fruit (DDs love bananas), etc....on the grown up side of things, I partook of a bunch, including some mini bagels with cream cheese (although what they had labeled as salmon spread ended up being some cream cheese/yogurt/orange marmalade thing with no salmon whatsoever)...I did see the "strawberry soup" which really just reminded me more of the dipping sauce from Tonga Toast at the Poly....but the bread pudding was delicious....I was hopeful for the "Lobster benedict" as I had that for breakfast the day before at the GF Cafe, but it didn't match up...at the GF Cafe it was served on danish bread with substantial chunks of lobster on the side, but on the buffet there was no under bread (not even an english muffin) and nary any lobster in sight - unless that nasty chunky (like bad risotto) stuff mixed into the sauce was ground up lobster - in any event, skip it but for tasting the citrus sauce (especially since poached eggs sitting on a wamer are always poached too hard for my tastes)....

DD1 liked being able to walk up and get her own cereal and both DDs liked the fact that we had dessert at breakfast - complete with rice crispy treats (which I think I liked more than DD1, but DD2 enjoyed)....DD1 enjoyed a soft-serve vanilla ice cream w/toppings, but DD2 only wanted to eat the toppings, so I gave them both a bowl of M&Ms and gummy bears (to DW's chagrin)...

DW did comment that the oatmeal was good, and we all enjoyed the fresh squeezed OJ...

All in all, we'd certainly do it again - the only "negatives" we had on the experience were: 1) we had to ask to be moved from the table they first sat us at because the table was far too wobbly & had nothing to do with the legs being even on the floor, but however the table top connected to the legs. In any event, they rectified without objection or problem and we saw them making repairs/adjustments to the table before they sat anyone else there later; 2) The server seemed to not really listen at first as to who wanted OJ and was just going to fill every glass on the table at every chance she got (which would've been fine with me, but really, if you're going to ask a question, shouldn't you pay attention to how your guests answer it?)...a minor detraction to me...

In any event, the DDs loved it, and I always enjoy using my DDE (oops, make that Tables in Wonderland) card for any meal, so a good time was had & we'll most likely do it again in the future.....and after I get around to uploading some more recent photos from my camera, I'll try to remember to come back and post some here (though I think I only have character photos from the meal, b/c I'm not one to take food porn photos, as much as I like seeing them on the Dis)....

I ate there for breakfast in 2001 and it was great! I know it was a long time ago but I hope it makes you feel better.
