If so what brand? Can you tell me what you like/dislike about it and what you would do or not do again if you built over. Thanks for your help!

Yes and we love it! People are always admiring our deck. I think the brand is GeoDeck. I’m guessing that all new decks will be from composite materials soon. It’s more expensive but lasts forever (supposedly), looks a lot better (imo) and needs no maintenance. We’ve only had ours since May so I can’t say how it holds up, but my sister has had hers (Trex I think) for about 8 years and it looks like new. The only problem with mine is I've noticed a couple of little spots that might be stains but I'm not sure since I haven't tried to clean them yet. But wood will stain too if you spill the wrong thing on it and don't clean it up right away.

We have a trex deck. Two of them, actually.

Use the invisible fasteners - the decking looks beautiful!

We also looked at the colors on the website, used 3 complementing colors on our front porch.

In the back, we used the color the building supply place had in stock, it's the gray-ish one.

It gets really hot in the full sun, summertime.

Wet spills need to be cleaned immediately - or it will discolor.

Mine is Trex. I love it! No maintainance, and no fading. I just wash it down and it as good as new.

We don't have one but our old neighbors put one in, I don't know the brand, but it was white and it was BLINDING to look at in the sun. What ever you do, don't get white.

Thanks for the replies. Im really leaning towards a composite. I just don't want the maintenance of a wood deck. There are so many brands out there now, I don't know which to choose! I have checked out a couple that were in store (cheaper brands) and I didn't like the look of them. I still need to check out Trex.

Anyone else?

Our dock is made of the grey Trex and we love it. No warping and no mess. It does get a little slippery, but no worse than the wood did. We just finished building a small patio with the brown trex and it looks great! My parents used the trex railings on their pre existing wood deck. They chose white and it is blindingly white. I have noticed more wear and tear on the white than the other colors.

We used the ChoiceDek from Lowes and I just love it! It looks wonderful and DH says it was easy to work with...with the right tools of course! We choose this over Trex simply because they had the perfect color we wanted and it was in stock at lowes.

We used the Woodtone. I thing Lowes stocks the Gray and Woodtone. They have two other colors as well, Redwood and Sandstone, but those are special order. I love the woodtone. It is a nice brown color that will lighten up some with sun exposure.

We put in an Evergrain deck last year. I wanted something that needed no upkeep - only a powerwash once a year. No splinters but as someone else mentioned - if any liquids other than water spill it needs to be cleaned up right away or it will stain. With that said, I love it and I am so glad we went with the composite.
