I'm getting a new washer & dryer and was looking at the Bosch 300 or 500 series front loaders. At the store there didn't seem to be much difference in them, and the sales guy said he never sees the Boschs' come back. He said there seems to be more problems with the Electrolux and Whirlpool ones. But, then I came home and read some reviews and there are some bad reviews for them. I can't decide if it is just because we tend to let people know when we are upset about something, or if the sales guy was giving me a line.

Anyone out there have any experience with these???

We bought the 300 series in October and we just love them. Clothes are so clean, not one problem!! Plus the dryer never has to run as long as it says it will, it adjust the time to when clothes are dry. It was a great purchase!! My husband loves Bosch appliances ( we have dishwasher and stove too) so we probably didn't do as much comparing as some would have but we have no regrets!
Good Luck!

We have a Bosch 500 Series Set. I am really pleased with them. Dh who does all the Laundry seems to think we should have gotten a whirlpool or another American made brand.
:hippie:He is still not used to the idea that you have to put many smaller things in with a larger item, such as a blanket or the washer will get out of balance. If it gets out of balance, you then have to run a whole cycle, you can't just run a spin like an old top loader. I am not sure if this is just with the Bosch brand or not. He is really set in his ways, but those small things just really make him dislike our washer. I love it, by the way.. But then, I never use it..:hippie:

We don't have one, but this was recommended to us when we were looking. DH works at Lowe's and a good buddy has been in appliances for years - a family business - and this is the brand she recommended to us. She said they never have issues, are quieter, and she said she can always recommend them without any qualms. We just hope we can get a new home soon so we can buy them!

I read on one of the reviews for the 300 dryer that there is a 'wrinkle shield' feature and the dryer won't stop - just keeps going until you go and open the door. So, for instance if you put in a load at night before bed, it will keep going on and off (to prevent the clothes from wrinkling) until the morning. Is that true? Seems kinda odd to me, but if it is the case then that is not the dryer for us.

I got the 300 series washer and a 500 series dryer a month ago and love them. They are so quiet and our clothes come out much cleaner. The washer can hold so many towels at a time and many pairs of jeans that I have cut down on the number of loads I have to do each week. I also read the bad reviews on line and almost cancelled my order but my husband wanted to give them a try and he wanted a brand made in the USA and there aren't many choices. I'm really glad I want with the Bosh brand.

Good Luck

After reading up on all the front loaders...
I purchased the 500 series pair, a year ago from Lowe's .. got a great deal on the washer only paid $650 after all the rebates...Overall both are great machines..didn't really need the steam dryer though .. the 300 looked low-end to me and didn't have the same features as the 500 or 800... the washer does a great job using minimal water on ex-large loads no problem with mildew or smelly laundry, every once and a while run the sanitizing cycle with just bleach.. so don't waste your money on those bleach tablets for front loaders..washer has a high speed spin cycle which almost dries the clothes.. the dryer has a unique air flow which seems to dry clothes quickly and they are not so hot you can't touch them for the most part, I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase. the LG would have been my second choice the TOP loader washer with the washplate is excellent too...

Unfortunately, my mom has had nothing but trouble with hers.

She has had them for about two years and has had the service person out numerous times and the problems are never resolved. She and my dad just went out over the weekend to buy a new washer, dryer, and dishwasher. :sad2:

I will ask her what model she has and the specifics of her issues and update my post later today.

I think they already bought a washer, dryer and dishwasher. The OP and responding posts were from two years ago. Not sure why the PP (doc marcus) drug this up. :confused3

I HATE this dryer. As the poster above stated, the dryer adjusts the time to when the clothes are dry. Problem is, the dryer stops while the clothes are damp and you have to manually hit the start button EVERY 5 MINUTES until the clothes are dry. Don't do it!

The Bosch 500 series dryer is rated in the July 2010 Consumer Reports. It is #26 out of 49 rated dryers. It is a recommended dryer.

Edited to add - didn't realize this is a 2 year old query. I assume the OP has made a decision as to what to buy!
