Anyone Have 2nd Thoughts Right Before Vacation About Changing Resorts?

I must be crazy or something We are arriving at the GF July 4th and staying until July 11th. We've stayed at GF in 99 and had a great time. BUT in 00 we stayed at Poly and absolutely loved it! Both my DD and DS loved the Poly so much more than the GF as there were more kids there and they felt more relaxed in that atmosphere.

The ONLY reason I decided to go back to GF this summer was because I figured with the heat and humidity the Poly would be sort of damp. We stayed at Tuvalu and although beautiful, it was kinda damp. Maybe it was just because our longhouse was older? I dunno . . .

Should I switch my ressie to the Poly? Or am I just having those pre-vacation jitters? I just want everything to be as nice as it was when we vacationed in 00.

I think if your family had a better time at Poly, you should switch back! I wouldn't really worry about the dampness, but that's just me...

We stayed at the Polynesian in July 2000 for 9 days. We had a wonderful time! Our room was fine, no trace of dampness or mildew or anything. The Polynesian had it's "normal" smell (if that makes sense). I really loved watching the fireworks from our room every night, too.

The Polynesian really is a nice resort. I wouldn't hesitate to return. If you think your family would prefer the casual tropical feel of the Polynesian, I'd switch without giving it a second thought.

Keep in mind that if you got a good rate at the GF and the code has expired the room at the Poly will probably be more. I changed my hotel at the last minute in May and paid full price for a lagoonview concierge. Worth every penny to me because we were staying at the AKL and my husband has been ill, so it was easier to be on the monorail line. But if you really preferred the Poly go for it.
