I have not, but a friend of mine did when renting a condo that had been our runner-up choice, and I recommended it to her. They kept $60, I think, due to damage to towels. My friend said that they thought the towels were old, stained, and ratty when they arrived, but as long as they were clean, they just decided to use them and not stress over it. Well, it was quite insulting when they were charged for towels and the mgmt. company kept part of their security deposit. They tried to dispute it, but it was basically their word against the mgmt. company, and the owner (who they rented from), sided with the mgmt. company. They finally just let it go...
It really sounded like a scam on the part of the management company to me. I wonder how many different people they've charged for new towels and then pocketed the money!
