Hi All,
I know with all the athletes we have here that a few of you mst have had rotator cuff surgery. I went in to the DR on Monday to get my MRI read. I had some tears and he said that he normally wouldn't recommend surgery but it was just going to get worse. Didn't need to do it right away but I should think about when I wanted to get it done. I said OK, let's do it but I needed to work around my wife being out of town and I needed to be able to train for the Goofy (although I told him the marathon because he wouldn't understand the Goofy) Long story short, they had a cancellation for the next day. Take it or I would have to wait until the middle of August. Took it!
The tears were worse than they thought and they ended up fixing some others parts while they were in there. I am not 100% sure because when he told me I was still pretty much in a stupor. I don't see him for another 9 days.
So, give me hope. Did you recover fully? When could you run again? He did say I could run in a sling but not the way it feels today. It's only been 5 days though. I need to keep the sling on for 6 WEEKS!
Went to PT the very next day and am doing passive PT for now.
I need encouragement. I feel like I am just sitting here getting fat.
Thanks,
Duane
