We've stayed at the RP quite a few times since our boys have grown, and really enjoyed it. It's even better since the remodel. We've always booked the Executive Suites, which have a seperate living room area, and are really spacious. The bathrooms are fantastic, too, with Jacuzzi tubs, large vanities, and separate showers.
We had friends in the standard rooms, and although those rooms were smaller, they were equally well-appointed.
The restaurant is usually very relaxing with good offerings on the menu. The one thing I haven't tried is their buffet breakfast because we aren't big breakfast eaters. We usually grab a piece of fruit, or a bran muffin, and are on our way.
The staff has always been helpful and friendly, and the location is terrific for walking to Downtown Disney. It's just a couple of blocks away on nice sidewalks covered in shade trees.
The bus service is good, though a bit longer of a ride then from the Disney resorts. Maybe 10-15 extra minutes, but each time we've been there the buses to and from the RP were the "Greyhound Bus Type" of a bus, with two very comfortable seats, so you hardly notice.
We love the RP. Here's how I recommend it.....if this is your first (or only) trip to DisneyWorld, and you can afford it, stay in a Disney resort. And especially if you have kids with you. You simply cannot beat the magic Disney offers, and a Disney resort will be a one-of-a-kind experience. But, if you need to budget, and can get one of RP's deals, you can't beat it for savings at a super nice hotel. It's also wonderful if your top priority is having a larger room for a great price.
Hope this helps.
