I'm getting stuff together to make the perfect game room. I'm making it in my garage. This is actually a temporary game room in this house because we are moving to Orlando in 10 months and I want to have everything I need for it when we move. Can anyone give me some ideas of what to put in there. I am working on finding a pool table to put in it. I have an Xbox neon sign I am going to hang in there, and I have a couch. I want this to be a room used by my kids when they entertain as well as us when we entertain. I'm not rich, so I can't afford the 3000.00 juke box I want, but I know how thrifty my fellow disers are so I'm hoping I can get some good ideas.
Also does anyone have their game room in the garage. Did you leave the garage door on, or replace it? What kind of floor do you have in there. Thanks for the help!

our game room is on the 2nd floor of our house. we've only just moved in this past december, so it's nowhere near being completed yet. but we have an electronic dart board and my husband just got a pool table. he plans to turn the whole room into a pub type environment eventually...

We have a game room upstairs that includes a full-sized Air Hockey Table, a karioke machine, PlayStation2, TV, Yamaha Keyboard, lot's of board games, a Couch/Loveseat, a Bow Flex, and last but not least,a Disco Ball.

At the moment, there is also a 4-person tent in the center of the room that was just used for a sleepover.

The kids have a lot of fun in this here and all their friends love it as well.

If I had to add anything, it would probably be a small refrigerator and microwave.

We have a pool table, Star Wars pinball machine, an Asteroids machine, wet bar, and a 52" tv with surround sound. It has DVD, VCR, X-box, Nintendo 64 and Gamecube. It's the place to hang out.

Whatelse do ya need???

a Beer meister! :Pinkbounc

We have our basement turned into the "kids room"...use to be the "bar"....anyway- in it is...

DD's large toys- fridge, desk etc. and their board games
TV DVD/VCR PS2.... Large bar- made from a tree that we cut donw in our yard...left the bark on it, and sliced it..beautiful!...blender on the bar, beer meister behind it...and enough bottles under it to have a grand time LOL

Also a electronic dart board on the wall, DH's home gym, and my treadmill

a beer meister for those of you who dont know is a mini fridge build specifically for housing a keg of beer, it has a tab on the top etc...

Somehow DFIL got a "deal on 5 of them"...now all 4 boys have one and we have one at DMIL's pool.

Our game room has a Pool Table, Foosball Table, Air Hockey, Big Screen Tv, dartboard, we have a microwave and bar sink as well. Have to get another TV for the Video Games though, DH is very possesive with his TV and doesn't want video game "ghosts" to appear! men.

My parents have a game room with a pool table, computer, etc. in there. One of the unique things, though, is they have a large Coca-Cola refrigerated box. Although it doesn't work, they could have it repaired so they could actually use it for cold drinks. Also, we kids have talked about getting them a Coca-Cola table with the high bar stools. Their game room is 'Coca-Cola' memorabilia, which I think adds a neat them to the room.

Whatever you choose, it's great to have an extra room like this--especially for when you have company!

We are trying to add to our basement "game room" feel. We now have a 8 ft pool table, full size air hockey, full size poker machine, electronic darts, regular darts. We are planning to build a bar soon (hopefully).

My MIL and Step FIL used to live in a HUGE house. Their basement was a total game room. Pool table, airhockey, foosball, about 5 pinball machines, centipede machine, astroids, pacman table machine, poker machines, etc. They also had a 1500 sq ft pool room on the first floor (totally cedar). SFIL died about 8 years ago and MIL sold the house and thats how we acquired our poker machine (it was my favorite machine at their house)....I wish I could have acquired their pool room too!!!!;)

unsolicited advice, question. unless someone else is paying to move you, don't buy a pool table that you then have to move. they are heavy, difficult, and expensive to move. Just a thought.
