waht do you think?
how does it compare to the cricut?
can you really design your own diecuts using the design software, or is it limited to the gallery on the software

I don't have the Craft Robo, but do have the Wishblade. (Craft Robo, Xyron Wishblade & QK Silhouette are all the same machine, but branded and distributed by different companies.)

It is really cool and I have used it a ton for titles - using all my cool computer alphas and TTFs. Honestly though, it is a huge learning curve if you want to go beyond titles. Esp if you want to do Disney stuff. There are a lot of pre-made templates out there that you can buy or even download for free (for personal use), but they are not Disney due to the copyright. You can make Disney ones, but can't distribute.

I ended up getting a cricut for cheap from a friend (when she upgraded to the expression - she is NOT computer savvy at all!). I only bought the Disney carts to make it easiest on myself. I wouldn't trade my Wishblade for a cricut though - I just have too many fonts to not use them in my layouts!

I have a pro and love it- titles are the easiest thing to make but after a bit of practice other things are not bad. The craftrobo software has an autotrace so if you scan a coloring page or take one from online- the software will autotrace it and then you can change the line colors and cut it. i have found that is a really easy to do that although I am not sure if what I said makes sense. there are also tons of files avaiable at online stores for a few cents to a dollar or 2 each- many people have blogs.

I got a cricut because it was easier for the Disney stuff. I have the paper dolls cart- the Disney carts, and the ones that came with my machine- anything else i can do with my craftrobo.

If you look through the swaps- the MGM swap had a bounty hunter i made on my craftrobo and the 2nd chance had a darth vader i made. The zoo swap from last summer had a panda I made and an AK swap had an owl I created. Most of those were a combination of hand and autotracing. i have found that hand traciong in the program is not hard- I am not enough of an artist with my mouse to create things from scratch on the program often.

You can also cut most dingbat fonts for simple shape files.
