Our friends can't travel in March (they were overlapping with our family trip) so now that my DH doesn't have his golf buddy to play with he thinks he won't take his clubs, rather than golf alone. I find that odd as he is a real extrovert! Anyway, he would have been golfing on March 4th, 6th and 9th and already has the DVC Golf Card. He's about a 12 hcp I think (won the 2nd flight club championship this year) and manages the club house at our golf course, so a real golf nut.

I'm not sure how he would react if I tell him - hey! I found someone for you to golf with! But I wanted to check - anyone out there golfing in March?

He would rather not golf???? Is he crazy, or what?! :D Actually, Disney will automatically put you with someone else, so you almost never get to golf alone, even if you wanted to! My DH met a couple from Scotland the last time he golfed there--he was upset to be put with strangers, at first, but they were so very nice, and they had golfed at several courses in Michigan, so it worked out well. He also played with two Russians, two guys from Atlanta, and two people from Saginaw(Michigan), and actually enjoyed himself, although he is an introvert.  We are going the very end of March. :jumping4:

As Cruella says Disney will usually partner you up with other golfers to make a 3 or a 4 ball.

I hope to be working by then, but if it's one of my days off I'm more than happy to pair up and get out to play. I also have the DVC membership so it's easy enough to book the tee times.

I'm sure if you (or he) were to put a post up here nearer the time there would be a few replies, I know the similar posts that went up a week or so ago got their places filled pretty quickly.

I'd be interested to know ( and this is open to any golfers or their partners to answer) . If there was a DIS/DVC golfday organised while you were visiting would you (or your partner) sign up to play in a fun competition (i.e. no real prizes, just a fun day but with a slight competative edge to it).

Vernon, DH would play with others provided they are paired according to ability, or if they are playing "best ball". He didn't take up golf until 5 years ago, but he's avid about it now.

we just decided last night to go to WDW this coming weekend to play golf..........Jan 21-23. I am looking foward to it.............

Any vote for encouraging DH to just go! My Dh has always had great luck with the folks he's been paired up with. Even got to play with someone who lives in the Orlando area and was Goofy! (the character!!) And he's been paired with DVC folk on several occasions. Sometimes I ride with him to enjoy the view. Your DH may also enjoy taking a lesson. He really has enjoyed those also.

We'll be there May 1 - 7 and I may post closer to time to find him a partner or two.

I guess I should have used different words - we know that they will pair them up - so "alone" wasn't accurate. I should have said "with strangers".

I have tried and tried to convince him to do it. Even before our friends were going, he said no. Then when Richard was going to be there, he was all gung ho. And now that they aren't going to be there he says "Well, maybe I'll just make it a lazy vacation"

My DH is very, very stubborn. There is very little chance I can convince him, but I thought I would give this a shot.

I told him I think he will regret not having the clubs!

Richard and Rod played in Dec and had CMs with them twice and also found a guy who was there with his Dr. wife at a conference. He was thrilled to only pay $50 for his three rounds he played with them!
