Does anyone out there have plans to go to the midnight showing of Harry Potter? We bought our tickets last night for a Sunday showing. When I told my almost 10 yr old what we were doing, he was bouncing so much the car shook! I swear he had tears of joy in his eyes and I can not recall the last time I saw him that happy. Have to admitt just that made it all worth it!!! We will be having my sister watch DD (2) while DH and I take our DS (10 ~ in July~ and 5.) I am really looking forward to this!!!!!!!!!

oh I wish...but I wouldn't last through it!

I hope to go tomorrow at noon (I have the day off) Hopefully I can get a ticket!

ME ME ME!!

:cheer2:

I'm SO excited about it too - my friend just got back from a trip to the Ukraine and her body clock is a little warped but, as she promised long ago, we'll be at the 11:55 show this evening.

I think she may have made the promise without expecting to actually have to follow through!! :p I went to get tickets the other day for a Friday night show (with my sister...cause, yes, I'm a bit obsessed with my fictional 13 year old wizard boyfriend!!), and he asked what day I wanted showtimes for. I told him Friday, then added, joking, "unless you guys have a midnight show..." He says, "well, we just found out this morning that we WILL have a 12:00 on Thursday night."

:earseek:

It was a total surprise, even though I was wishing for it. There's just something about these "events" that I totally love and it makes me want to do so much more with my life...not really sure how that happens, lol. The adrenaline, I guess.

CAN NOT WAIT!! It's rivals the fever of a Disney vacation!!:wizard:

Oh Kylene Iam so excited for you!! I would have gone to one, but not fair to my DS as we have a pact of seeing it together for the first time. Oh well, have a GREAT time!!!!!!!

Ughhh! There is no midnight show that I know of...I have called all aroung...Dh and I had planned on doing that though...Oh well...there is always tomorrow! :(

I didn't even realize it was coming out this weekend! How did I miss that?!

I couldn't interest anyone in staying up that late tonight. And it seems that everyone else in my family is too busy tomorrow as well. I hope that we get to see the movie on Sunday. :(

Not tonight, but I have tickets for Saturday night. We have a Science Center with an Imax theater, so we got tickets there. Can't wait!

We're going tomorrow at 7:30. Although may be tempted if I can get a nap in to go see it tonight!

We're going tonight at 6:30. I have to admit I have not read the books or seen the movies. I'm still looking forward to it.

I had totally forgotten about the IMAX version of the film. I wonder if I could convince my family to drive to Columbus to see the IMAX version of the film. Hmmmm.

I thought about going to the midnight show for about 30 seconds and then realized my 8 year old couldn't stay up until 2 a.m. Bummer.

I plan to go next week. So no spoilers!!!!!!!:p

We're going to see it in IMAX Sunday morning. Bought our tickets online last night.

IMAX? It's playing on IMAX??? I may just have to go twice now!!!::yes:: :hyper:

Can't go tonight, but we have tickets for the 10am IMAX show tomorrow. My DH put in for a personal day as soon as he knew the release date.

Nope, waiting until the 10th. I wanted to wait for the crowds to die down a bit & for a time when the kids will be in school. Plus, that's my birthday!:Pinkbounc

LoL - I doubted I would have anyone convinced to make it a late night with me too, although I did get my sister to the midnight release party of OotP - unfortunately for her, it was the last day of school (= FIRST day of summer vacation!) and, of course, she ran into some of her past AND future students at the party!! Less than thrilled was she....:p

My family and friends are beginning to learn not to dare me to do nutty things for the things I love. We were in Vegas a couple weeks ago at the wax museum, where they have this American Idol exhibit where you can actually choose a karaoke song, sing it on a stage, then get "judged" by Simon. My sister insisted I wouldn't do it, swore I didn't have the guts, and then gave me a little financial motivation.....

She paid me to do the rockinest performance of Oops! I Did It Again this side of Kentwood, LA. Let's just say....it was an unforgettable event for all the tourists who stopped to watch....

I just have to take the challenge for my obsessions (be it midnight movies or public humiliation!)!!

Nope, not tonight...I wouldn't be able to stay awake. But, last night I bought the tickets for Friday nights 10:05 showing which will be after my son's baseball game.
We were sitting around at 9PM last night and my son asked if I bought the tickets yet. I told him that I would get them Thursday night for Friday's show when he informed me that he thought all of the tickets were sold out for Friday's show. We hopped in the car right then and drove over...they weren't sold out thankfully.

I HAVE to see the movie right away.

really - would a noon show be sold out already for tomorrow?
i want to see this movie right away too!

maybe i'll swing by the theaters tonight..just to be sure!

I just dont' want to look like an idiot...cause i'm going to this movie by myself. (if I waited for DH - it would be August...he still hasn't said "take me to see Shrek" yet...I saw that movie 2 weeks ago!)
