I have had to switch my trip from May to April in order to do the food and wine weekend. Anybody else going to try it, or already been?

I did it last year - truthfully if you didn't know it was going on, you'd miss it. I did a reception last year - the food and wine was good, and I think it was sold out. So they are popular, even if they are not widely advertised.

They do offer special events and classes (on a much smaller scale than Epcot) but there were some fun things. Not sure when they post the schedule of events, but I will keep a lookout. I'm hoping to do a few more events this year.

The things around DCA are regulated to the Warf area and were pretty small, and inconspicuous. I'm hoping that it will grow to more events this year.

Oh, and if you have any AP besides a Premium, the Saturday events will all need blockout tickets. :(

We've gone to a winemaker's dinner the past two years. They were both in Steakhouse 55. What irritated me last year was that there weren't any room available at any of the three hotels because of the pirate's movie premier happening that same weekend.

It was me (the designated driver) and the seven lushes. I think that they should offer a designated driver price to the winemaker's dinner or offer a discounted price on the hotel rooms. I did get unlimited Diet Coke with lime :)

We also attended some of the other shows and exhibitions throughout the run. They had special appetizers to purchase last year with wine pairings right by the margarita bar. Fun for all!

I'm so excited because we're doing F&W here at DLR and then again at WDW in October. It's our first time. I've heard Epcot is nothing like ours.

Can you share with us a little more about the winemaker's dinner? Did they have this on the Thursday night or the Friday night? How many people attended? Does the winemaker discuss his/her wine? Do they always use the same wineries each year?

Sorry for all the questions. It seems like something we would love to do and we are thinking of just making a quick weekend trip down during one of those weekends. I guess it depends on which winery it would be.

Thanks for your insights.
