Hi..just wondering if anyone is going to US/IOA next week...Wed. March 21-Thursday March 22? We (myself...the Mom, and some of the kids ages, 18, 18, 16, and 14) will be there staying onsite (RPH) Tues night thru Thursday. First time onsite and we are all very excited. Have been to the parks a few times...most recently last June, but have never stayed onsite. I figured this was the best time to try it out since Spring Break will probably be more crowded than even the beginning of June last year.

I am thinking of bringing along breakfast items to save time/money from eating at the hotel or park...anyone else do this? I know the hotel room has a stocked fridge that we will NOT be using. I wonder if they would empty the fridge for us like they do on a cruise ship? That is what they did for us the last cruise we took in Dec....they removed their stuff and we were able to put our things in it to keep cool.

Anyway...just posted this because I am am SUPER excited and LOVE talking about the trip. My kids are probably getting tired of listening to my plans!

I'll be there. Taking my 13 year old daughter. This will be our first trip to Universal Orlando. I've visited Universal Hollywood a handful of times and thought we'd give our Disney visits a rest this year.

She's excited about the new mini golf and wants to ride The Simpsons.

We are staying off site mainly for cost reasons.

staff will not remove the items from the mini bar fridge.
if things are moved around, and staff does their daily check, you could end up being charged for an item.
each day staff does a fridge and drawer check.
they do this quickly and usually look thru at the order they know it should be. if something is missing, then you incur a charge for that item.

it is not like a real fridge as it only will keep items cool, just above room temps.

buy a styro foam chest, fill it with ice and set it in the tub during the day.
use that for your items that need to stay chilled.

if you booked a standard room, ask star service for blankets, linens, pillows etc so you can make a pallet on the floor for the 5th person.
it is free.

Drawer? What is in the drawer? I thought about a cooler and will use one like you said. I probably won't have much that needs to be cool so will likely just pack a soft sided one that I can pack...we will only be there 2 days anyway.

I'll have to give the kids the low down on the fridge and "drawer" and not to touch anything.

the drawer had the candy bars.
it's located in the mini bar fridge.

the nuts and treats and water bottles that are on the dresser tops, are expensive.

if you open them, you are charged for them.

prices are listed on the folded card by them.
wow are they expensive.......!!

this is also where the tv is located.

We're arriving 3/16 and leaving 3/18. We'll just miss you too! Traveling with my two daughters - 19 and 23. Can't wait!!
