Going Jan 3rd -8th and I can't decide between All star Movies, POR, and the Dolphin (if they release nurses rates for our time frame). We've stayed at the Poly, Dolphin (x2), and beach club villas in the past. Wieghing the Music, POR, and the Dolphin with the thought of a car rental with the Dolphin (no magical express here). Me, DD20, DS19, DS friend 20, DD16, DD5. 2 rooms definitly needed. I thought Movies would be fun esp. for DD5. POR would also be a good choice for all ages. Dolphin only if discount rate released.(and car rental, bad experience with their buses, supercrowded). Any thoughts, suggestions? I just can't make up my mind. :confused3

I had already purchased flights or else I might have though about switching to Dec.
Anyway, we're a family of 5 and getting 2 rooms at ASMo. I think my kids will love it [7, 5 & 3]. We debated that and POR but because of their ages and the benefit of 2 rooms for just a tad more total, we thought ASMo was a better choice for us. I'm hoping we get the Buzz Building [son is 3 would love it!]

We used AAA and were able to get the dining package with a discount on the room portion saving us about $250 off of rack rate.

Good luck and see you at WDW.

We are going Jan 28-31 and have not booked a room. I can't decide between BRP room only or a AAA package with dining. I will be happy to book with the WL whenever I decide.

4our4kids,

Some thought on your plans:

I booked Pop Cent about this time last year for 1/1 - 1/10 just so I'd have a room. Mid Oct. a room only code came out which dropped the cost from $77 to $55 per night, but we had to switch to AllStar as no Pop rooms were available for the code. Later, we got the first three days of our stay at Swan and the last three at Dolphin at the Teacher's Rate, we couldn't get all the days we wanted, we kept the middle two at AllStar. AllStar is a REAL letdown after the Swan, and now, they charge for parking at S/D, so a TC might be cheaper than a rental with parking thrown in. We had a great week, hope you do too, but I'd nail down a room now and deal for a better one later.

The $129 rate at the Dolphin really starts to get up there when you add in the resort fee, parking and car rental. Starting to seem like not such a great deal. In Aug '03 I was able to get the Dolphin on Hotwire for $65.00!!
I read on another thread some are getting a PC for $129 for AK and WL for Jan. That I would take! For now I'm still wieghing pro's/con's of All Star Movies, and the moderates. Our airfare is booked, and PS need to booked this week, now I only need to make up my mind!

Did you know they dropped the $10.00 resort fee? Just recently (maybe July31st or something like that). But there is still the parking fee.

Your dates include Disney's marathon weekend and since the S/D is an Epcot resort, that makes it really popular to stay at during that time of year. Hopefully they'll have your discount but I'm not sure.

We are considering a trip in late Jan. I am holding out for either a discounted Disney room or my favorite the Swan to come out with a teacher rate. My principle says I can have the time (but it will be without pay) so a discount will help a LOT! The trip would be our family Christmas gift so I have some time to wait.

Going Jan 8-15, just booked yesterday CSR, no rooms as POFQ for that time.

We're still contemplating a trip in January for my DD's 18th birthday (She wants to go solo but I don't think that's gonna fly!). Thinking 1/19-1/22 but we have NOT made any reservations yet.

I booked my Jan 25-Feb 1 flight yesterday, but i don't have a room yet!

I'm debating buying a AAA membership to get their discount, but if disney comes out with something, then I'll waste $59. I'm thinking I'll make a room-only AAA reservation thru CRO, just so I have something.

We're going Jan 11-21 and are just waiting for clarification about the BRP before booking at CBR. A couple of weeks ago we e-mailed WDW to see if there was an official policy on guaranteeing the best rate available to AP holders (after all, the BRP is ONLY for AP holders) rather then just the stated "to the general public." So far we've just gotten a "we'll get back to you" :rolleyes1 kind of response.
