Hi, we are going on the eastern magic 7 day leaving dec. 28 and are concerned about air and water temperatures. we have been 3 times, but always in summer. we really want to snorkel at trunk bay in st. john and on catammaran trip at st. martin. has anyone been over christmas, new years and what was the water like? what kind of special events do they have on new years? thanks for your help. barb

FINALLY... a third person shows up!

We haven't been over New Years before, last year we went the first week in December, and the water was fine.

We're hoping to do the Golden Eagle in St. Maarten, but we're not sure what to do in St. Thomas. I'm more comfortable doing a Disney Excursion, so we're looking at the St John Snorkel, the Trunk Bay snorkel and the Champagne Catamaran... while the more daring side of me REALLY wants to snorkel at Coki Beach...

Wouldn't that be the 2002 cruise, since the 2003 New Years 7 night will leave the 27th?

Sorry, didn't mean to sound like such a know-it-all... but after your post I felt kind of stupid assuming this poster was talking about the same cruise I'm going to be on... so I had to check.

hi, we did the golden eagle and trunk bay snorkeling thru disney (to make sure we didn't miss the boat doing it ourselves) and they both were great. the snorkeling at trunk bay was fabulous; beautiful fish and coral; sometimes you were in schools of thousands of fish! we haven't bought our plane tickets yet; wondering if we should go down a day early in case of snow or inclement weather on the dec. 28th; i'd hate to miss the ship because of cancelled flights. barb

I don't know where you're traveling from, but I'm coming from just outside DC, and I wouldn't take a chance on flying in the day of the cruise... I think it would be TOO stressful for me. We're actually looking at flying in on either the 25th or 26th - just to get some park time in.

hi, we are coming from your area; 45 min. away in harwood, maryland. many of the flights coming home are already booked and many airlines do not have nonstop flights anymore. we used to take metrojet; but that is gone. barb
