Anyone going 9-11, itinerary changed !

Im sailing on 9-11 on magic, unfortunately we are no longer going to the western car, according to dcl we are now going to st. thomas and puerto rico, and maybe castaway cay (if not nassau). As iwe have been to most of these already we are kinda dissapointed, but i guess its better than sailing into Ivan.

DCL always has the right to change the route (it's in the fine print on the cruise contract). The unusual thing is that you know about it ahead of time. Normally during hurricane season, it is a day by day decision that the captain makes and announces.

Bottom line, you will have a great cruise. I call our September cruises "mystery trips." We never know where we might end up, but always have a great trip.

demj1308, you kinda had to know the change was coming. Ivan is going to be blasting along right in the middle of the western cruise itinerary in the middle of the week. And is looking like it will hit the Caymans. There is now way they would take the ship in that direction.

But, it is disspointing when you've planned for certain places and even dreamed about special excrusions. One thing we're learning this year, is if you don't like a lot of variables in your plans, don't cruise during hurricane season. This was not our first choice, as we've moved this cruise a total of three times. And after the last few weeks, never do I want to sail at this time again. Yet we are and we know we have to be flexible.

The cruise will be awesome no matter what, and you may even get to CC! I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
