Anyone get through for free dining yet today?

There should be a meet for all the people who wanted to book at POP and ended up at ASSp, seems like there is quite a few of us

Guy I talked to said they didn't release any more rooms to the general public, apparently we just got the left overs from the visa card deal.

If it makes you feel any better I called at 8am on the first day of the DV deal and couldn't get anything but ASSp either We ended up going mod instead

We're checking in on 8/23 and leaving 8/29. How much of a pain would it be to book just the room for 8/23 and 8/24, then book with free for the rest of the trip? I know it would be 2 separate ressies. Would they make me change rooms?

It is quite easy to do, we will be doing the same thing for our Aug trip. We have FD booked Aug 25-Sept 2. I will make a room only res for Aug. 22-25. We have done this on out last 3 trips. You will have to check out and then check back in on your new res but we have never had to change rooms. Just make sure you link your 2 res together.

Looks like only Royal rooms are available at POR for Aug 25th-sept 1st Im really glad I got up WAAAAAAAAAY early to book! Im half tempted to upgrade to the royal rooms! My DH will most likely kill me if I did upgrade lol! He was all for a mod and didnt even care that we had to upgrade to a garden view but Im sure he will Kill me if I push him into a royal roomGotta know the limits lol! At this point tho he wouldnt even notice until we got to the resort! 157 doesnt mean much when you are are @ $2505 lol! I should probably quit while Im ahead with him lol

I just was messing around online and was able to pull POP up for aug 25th-sept 1st both standard and preffered rooms! so Im guessing some rooms are opening up as people upgrade to mods so its worth going back and double checking if you have your heart set on POP

Yeah.. I was messing around with it too...What a bunch of crap. If you put in August 29-sept 12, Pop is available but if you change the date to august 30-sept 12 it is not...what is that about???????

Just booked August 26-30 at POR for our family of 6(kids-9,8,5 and 1) in a preferred. CM said that was last preferred for that time and the only ones left were for water view. No standards left.

Yep, I was having trouble getting my credit card to process the payment on my preferred POR room and when I went back in and started over, there were none left.
No biggie, we're only a family of four and it won't kill us to walk a little bit. Glad you got one!

TA just called. We are in a Preferred Room at Sports, with the upgrade to the actual dining plan. Saved about 250. I'll take it! Come on Aug 25, 2012!

I had no intention of booking with free dining today. We were hoping for a room only AP rate since we'll be AP holders. But when I realized I could use the 2 days worth of tickets we had to get to have free dining against our renewal rate on our AP, it made sense.
We actually do like to do one TS and CS per day, so we would have been paying OOP for that, and even with a TIW card, it didn't make as much sense for us a free dining.
My brain hurts with all this early morning math.

POR Garden View Aug. 25th to Sept 4th . Called at 7 a.m. , waited on line for an hour and 15 minutes. was told that could only book a garden view or better with free dining at this resort. We already had a standard room booked (and pd for) so we upgraded.

I thought I wanted POP because we love it there but decided to upgrade to a mod and booked CBR preferred. I was going to pay to upgrade the QSDP if we stayed at POP so the price difference to go to a mod isn't that bad. I hope we like it!

Was gonna do CBR but we did table service last year and just takes to much time out of our day. We will pay out for 1/2 of our favs. Good Luck all.....ANSWER MY PHONE DISNEY!!! LOL

My family has had FD the last few years. I agree DDP takes so much time out of your day. My family liked the QSDP better, but we like both PO resorts.

Same here. My dates are 8/25 to 9/3 pop is now up. We love pop but choose to upgrade to a moderate this year anyway. But we actually prefer the QSDP so now I'm second guessing myself.

My family likes PO both sides. We prefer QSDP, too.
