Has anyone ever gotten ressies at a GV other than at their home resort? Trying to decide which to buy. We can make ressies 11 months out, but don't know if we should pick one with the GV's we want to stay at every three years so so. Usually it will be a studio.

Yes, we got reservations at OKW for May. We booked in December. The girl at MS was surprised we could get the reservation and told me to book it right away as it wouldn't be their the next day.

It would depend when you wanted the GV. If it was during a not so busy time, it might be possible. But if it were any of the busy times, forget about it. Unless you just want Fri and Sat night.

When is the busiest time every year?

I would say for BW, almost never without the 11 month window, simply because of the extremely limited number of GV's (I believe there are ony 7).

OKW has more GV's but even there I would guess almost anytime (or at least the vast majority of the time) in Oct., Nov., Dec., Spring Break, June, July, and Aug. you would need the 11 month window.

SSR I htink it might be a little early to tell, but others may have more experience/information to share on that one.:)

At OKW, I think January and September might be easier times to book a GV at the 7 month window. I wouldn't plan on it any other time unless you are looking at a weekend.

Sunday to Thursday September is probably the easiest time. Your other option would be to try to trade points with someone. We bought some OKW points just for 11 month access to GVs, although most of our points are at BWV.

There were 2 BW GV's in September right at the 7 month window this year and quite a few OKW GV's.

Correct - All the GVs at BWV are really nice (if you want to understand just how much so, here's a great video of one):

Just about the only way to get one of these is to do a day by day, calling MS right at opening exactly 11 months to the day out. I once read a story here about someone getting upgraded into a BWV GV during mid January, but to this day I'm still not convinced it it was true.

I booked BWV GV Sun-Thurs 7 months out starting May 6th without any issues. I did use the day by day system, but did not have any issues.pirate:

Considering that BCV and VWL do not have Grand Villas in thier inventory, they would have to book at a resort other then their "home" resort.

We wanted an OKW GV 3rd week in August. Couldn't get it 7 months out, but we were able to get it the last week of August. We just rearranged our schedules and I called day by day to be sure we got it.

We own at SSR. I booked a GV at SSR on 3/17/06 for a stay from2/5-10/07 (check in Monday, check out Saturday). Then called back on 7/17/06 and was pleasantly surprised to find there was one available at BWV and made the change. It was wonderful!!
