Just wondering if you've made a reservation for a car thru Priceline lately what company you got? I know the they usually have Hertz, Alamo & Budget and I'm looking ahead to my June/July trip.

The cheapest price I can find for 8 days is thru cheaptickets.com for a an SUV (of all things!) for $246.36 with taxes/fees. Pickup is Sat 6/24 @ 11am, drop off on Sun 7/2 @ 1:30PM. Not sure if I want an SUV though since there is just 3 of us and we'll be packing light! We might just go with Priceline if they are still dealing with decent companies. :)

EDITED TO ADD: that the screen says "intermediate SUV" maybe an Equinox or equivalent?

Let me know who your Priceline rental was through--thanks!

Hi,

I have used priceline a few times, I also try to look & sometimes I can find a great price too, without priceline. One, at the airport, one off the airport

Nov 2005 I stayed in the Marriott (airport) the first night I flew in. Took shuttle to the hotel, & then next morning Shuttle took me to Hertz (down the street) which I won with priceline.

Nov 2006 we are staying at the Marriott again. The next morning shuttle will take us back to the airport for Avis thru priceline again.

Hope this helps

Patricia

try the website below for great prices

I just looked up Dollar no codes from 6-25 / 7-2 from MCO for $216 fullsize Magnum .
Sometimes the rental web-sights are cheaper then the discounts if all you are getting is the car.

They cheapen the packages more then just the cars alone.

Just a note for future users.... the Hertz bus will actually pick you up at the Airport Marriott... Ask at the front desk!

Patricia-thanks for the link, I used to have that site bookmarked but lost it somewhere along the way! :)

tmt martins-thanks for the info on Dollar,is the old Fastlane service called Dollar Express now?

How much? Thanks

Too much in my opinion! He bid $15/day, and it came to ~$155 with taxes and fees. That's not horrible considering the regular prices I'm seeing, but I could've gotten close to that with National discounts and used Emerald Aisle! Oh well. I didn't want to rent a car so I left it to him... I'll know better next time! ;)

We just got back from our honeymoon in Orlando. I used Priceline to get our rental car. We got a full size car for $14 a day unlimited mileage. The total charged was $140 including tax and charges. National was the company that took my price. We ended up with a brand new Pontiac Grand Prix (it only had 7 miles on it). The price was for Sunday at 11 a.m. to the following Sunday at 11 a.m. I was really happy with the price I got and didn't have any problems.

We have gotten the following via Priceline: Hertz, Alamo, National, Avis, and Budget. Alamo was the most frequent, followed by Avis and then Hertz (it was usually Hertz when we got a WAY cheap price). We only got National and Budget once each.

Using the priceless code off Mousesavers combined with the $25 off weekly coupon (mousesavers) and I believe Nat'l put a code in all by itself (EA member?) I was able to get the mid size SUV (Equinox) for $131 with taxes for 02/08-02/13. IMO, I couldn't do better even if I had tried to price line this. Work with the codes first off mousesavers and cruise Nat'ls web sites. There are deals to be had. You just have to be persistent. :wizard:

BTW, I couldn't get priceline to take my $20 per day rental for a full size for this same period. :confused3
