The first Countdown
In 18 week's time, Ill be in California.
In 20 week's time, Ill be nearly at WDW.
And in one of those contradictory oxymoronic topics that seem to appeal to my sense of humour, I've been giving some thought to what I could or could not achieve in the next 18 or 20 weeks.
You gals know what I'm talking about.
I haven't really bothered about it in the last couple trips; preferring instead to keep 'Constant Vigilance' on myself. But this year, I've found that I've been slowly and steadily been creeping up. Yup. Its the post about weight loss.
I've been thinking long and hard about whether to set a weight loss, fitness challenge for myself. Afterall, every girl wants to look their best when they see their pal Mickey, dont they?
The tipping point for me? It was sitting in one of those motivational sessions at work where the speaker was talking about striking a better balance between work and life. He was definitely advocating that we need to exercise more in order to keep ourselves healthy.
So it is....that I'm sitting here; typing this out.
20 weeks could mean somewhere between 10 - 20 lbs weight loss (5 - 10 kg). I know I can aim for this.
Going by more numbers.....In the next 20 weeks, I'm going to aim to get some form of exercise for around 50 minutes each day. I don't run. But I can walk, cycle or do some sit-ups whilst watching TV.
And if nothing else, at least it is something to keep me motivated and active over the next 20 weeks.
I'm also going to be cutting down on the quantity of food that I eat. Yeah. Pretty ironic considering that Im in the midst of testing out Mickey Micro recipes. But then the amount of food that I might consume does not have to equate to the amount of food I cook; right?
So, here's to the 18/20 week countdown!
Excuse me whilst I go do 20 push-ups! (I know I can, I know I can.....)
