Congratulations to you if you knew that these 5 towns are home to the top 5 Flower Shows in the World!
I did mention that last weekend was a rather busy weekend for us. Aside from the school carnival, it was also the weekend where the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show was in full bloom.
This show is held at the Royal Exhibition Building.
This building is over 100 years old and was the site of the first sitting of Federal Parliament in Australia.
I normally try to get to the show during a weekday to avoid the crowds. But the only time I had this time round was on Sunday.
It isnt quite Disney proportions; but it was busy enough for me.
The flower show attracts Florists, Retailers and Growers from all over the world, some of which participate in the yearly competitions. The Great Hall is usually filled with a rainbow of colours and scents; this year was no exception.
One of the competitions usually involve creating dressage of sort
.I call these the dress food collection.
By the time Sunday came round, some of the dresses looked worse for wear.
The floral arrangement competition had a Pretty in Pink theme.
Surprisingly, I actually liked the pink displays!
And as always the major players in the industry went all out to showcase their creativity.
There were a few exhibits that caught my eye
.
Sometimes, simplest is best.
