Lights, Motors, Action Stunt Show
The first time I was at WDW was in 2005. Then....the Lights, Motor, Action Stunt Show was a Fast Pass must-see show. In those days, you made a beeline straight to the back of the park to claim a LMA Fast Pass.
Those of you that remember......is it my faulty memory? Was the legacy FP for this show handed out manually???? I have very vague but distinct recollections of running (yes, running) with a couple hundred or so people to this section of the park and getting a FP with a return time of 5 pm.
Then.....DS was 5 and we had hit Disney MGM on day 6 of our 10 day stay. DS had gone from 9 am to midnight for the 5 previous days and the only time he had a meltdown on that trip was at 4 pm on this day.
I've already mentioned that we missed out on dinning at Mama Melrose in a response to Ruthie. I think you may have worked out that the meltdown cost us dinner at MM on this day. We also missed out on seeing LMA on this day.
The upshot of this was that DH, who had really been looking forward to seeing the stunt show, has always had this show on his must-see list. I think it is a boy thing. But I'm happy to ensure that we fit it into our schedule.
Just to close out the trip down memory lane, we took DS back to the off-site resort, let him have a swim in the pool and fed him dinner with every intention of having a quiet night. DS turned round to us at 7.30 pm and asked what we were doing for the night. We ended up at DTD until way past midnight. Go figure the stamina of that 5 year old!!!
It was to be the only meltdown he had on that trip! I thought that was an amazing effort on DS' part.
The days of LMA being a fast pass attraction are long gone. I think we walked in at close to the starting time and caught the 1.20 pm show. Our seats in the 5000-strong stadium gave us this view. Not too bad for just making it in just before the gates shut!

With over 40 cars in the fleet, sparks are sure to fly.

The show is set up with lots of car stunts; under the guise of being part of a film shoot.

This part of the show is high-rev with the black cars giving chase.

I've always loved red cars.

Timing is everything! Happy landing.

And whatever the red car can do, the black cars do too.

But I figure that there is a lot of smoke and mirrors with this show. Take a look at that camera man. Isn't he supposed to be filming the action?
Okay. Maybe he had a secret weapon up his sleeve....or....his film.

Kachow!

You know....much as I like Lightning, I'm really salivating at the thought of Electricity lighting up that globe behind. Some day.

Back to the chase.

I'll be the first to admit that if you've seen one red car in the air, you've probably seen it all.

Except....that red car was jumping backwards.

So....it turns out that there are 3 individual red cars. All jumped up to do different tricks. I guess if the show hosts were prepared to spill the beans, I can spill too.

Okay. You caught me red handed.

I confess. The definition of a car for me is a vehicle that gets you from Point A to Point B. A set of wheels of any kind that gets me there safely and in a timely manner is about all I care about. Except.....my vehicle has a minimum of 4 wheels.

So this 40 minute show that DH and DS just loved? For me.....it was all about me getting in some shooting practise.
