What a great drive so far! Can't wait to see what your walk was like

oh you lucky thing! I am very envious. I just love shooting and hunting just really appeals to me.paula, I have hunted my whole life... It was just something I grew up doing in Texas and Alabama.... Up here in Maryland it is widespread but we don't anymore, I just don't have the time anymore. PIO-The pictures are gorgeous, thanks for sharing them... That burrito would have been my choice also...
Fun, ain't it? Hehehehee...
That shot through the ranch gate- nice!

Very nice scenic shots during the drive. Very nice update.
What a lovely drive!
What stunning countryside...... Thank you for sharing those vistas with us!
.
I did read Enid Blighton! Loved it! The famous five and and Noddy were my favouritesapart from the references to certain black dolls...oh dear that is offensive in modern times. As such it has been removed from our schools.
Oh how I love Aspens and the barkisn't it just beautiful. Those mountains are the Rockies? Oh you should see it with the snow it's just glorious. Aspen, Brekenridge etc.
Great drive. How nice X and Y are showing you all around. That is more like the cabin I had in mind!
Oh my gosh those people getting ready for hunting. How I have always wanted to do that! I would have begged to tag along! Most places here you can't hunt and quite rightly they have banned fox hunting because it was so cruel.

Beautiful pictures although I'm not liking the snow pictures right now! I'm not sure how much they've put on the international news but we got two inches of snow here in Atlanta on Tuesday and it shut down the whole city. It started at 9 am and by noon, everyone was trying to get home from work or school. Took me 2 1/2 hours to drive the 12 miles home from work. I was one of the lucky ones because I actually made it home. Many people slept in their cars overnight and a lot of school kids got stuck at school overnight!
Breakfast looks lovely. The scenery is so beautiful. I love the mellow colours.

A gorgeous drive and that pic with the gateposts, snow capped mountains and all -I agree with you - that is just the image I have in my mind of Colorado too! Beautiful photos - can't wait to see the ones from the walk.
Paula - I think it must be an English thing. Seems like there aren't that many Enid Blyton readers here except maybe you and me (or at least you and I are the only two willing to admit to it). Yup. Famous Five, Secret Seven and Mallory Towers and St Clare's fan here. I think my mother bought me the entire EB collection. I seem to recall we had a lot of books. Sadly, we got rid of it all when we moved to Australia.

I happily admit to being an Enid Blyton reader. I just never had heard about the book your referred to. Now Famous Five, Secret Seven, Mallory Towers and St Clare's is a different story. I loved those as a child and have reread the Mallory Towers and St Clare's books as an adult and still loved them.

Your photos are beautiful and almost make me enjoy living in the land of snow capped mountains.
Serious hunters call it: huntin' or hu-tin'. Utah hunters are all about dropping letters.![]()
Another Enid Blyton fan here! Forgot to comment about that before, but I am very familiar with the wisha-wisha of the Enchanted Woods - those were my favourite books as a kid! I also loved Noddy and Mr Pinkwhistle![]()
Just chiming in that the scenery is beautiful! That "cabin", I'd call it more of a shack!in it's heyday it was probably quaint. I'd rather stay with X and Y!
Loved the shot of the "gate" to the farm and the sweeping vistas. At least your wide angle lens didn't break!
