Ironically enough, our family saw a lost dog on our courtyard on Friday after school. I phoned the Animal Shelter and they picked him/her up. Poor dog had a collar, but no info on it!

However, we are in Bowmanville... I doubt that was your dog. Black & white collie type?

poor pup!, no she is a Bernese mountain dog named chelsea, she has been missing since jan, she is not my dog, but there is a huge effort going on right now to find her, she is the dog of a 80 year old widow, they are searching in the whitby pringle creek area for her.

Oh that's terrible, we are a little way up from Pringle Creek, we are in Williamsburg. I am not familiar with that breed of dog but it's a long time to be missing. Hoping it turns out. Are there pictures posted up in the neighbourhood?

yes there are lot's of pictures at the plaza, and all around on pringle creek park.
thanks!

Oh my - I just googled images of that dog and though funny how the coloring is close. Then I googled collie. The dog we found is NOT a collie! Not with that much hair on them! Hmm... on the other hand, border collie looks closer.

I really don't think the dog we found is a bernese. The photos show a lot of brown/gold in addition to the black & white. And curly-ish hair. I'll phone the shelter today though and ask what breed the dog is and if they found the owner or not yet.

I hope your neighbour gets her dog back soon!

Phoned today. This dog I'm referring to has already been picked up by his owner.

well that is good news!, they have spotted the dog today in the ravine, they are trying to get her out, they have a tracker, and a tracking dog...looking to get her out, fingers crossed, cmom chelsea come home.

Small world. That is a childhood friend of mines dog...well her mom's dog. She somehow got out of the doggie daycares yard the night the owner dropped her off. The doggie daycare has not been very cooperative. They have had so many people searching for her. I guess there have been a few sightings of a similar dog in the pringle creek area and they have tons of people looking for her. Hard to imagine they haven't managed to get this loose dog yet, but it might not even be her. She might have been taken/sold/? and might never have been lost......sad story for sure.

wow it is a small world!, they have found her--kinda of!, she is the dog in pringle creek, but she will not come out, they have a tracker as we speak spending every waking minute trying to earn her trust, it is very emotional!, Heather is a great lady, very strong, i do not know how she does it, Chelsea has gone a little wild, being by herself for so long and has resorted back to her basic instinct for survival, it is so hard, knowing she is in there, but not be able to get close enough to get her out.

ohhhh wow, I didn't know they had actually had a sighting of her for sure, I thought it was all speculation. Amazing that they found her.
Heather has dedicated herself to this for months....I hadn't seen a posting this week on facebook confirming it.
That is going to be a long hard recovery for Chelsea. poor thing, she will never be left in a kennel again.
I don't know how Joan has been handling all of this either.

They are very strong, yes it is going to take so much work to get her back to the doggie she once was, but we all have faith she will be caught, and the process can begin, you can go to the facebook page,

Months??!!! How long ago did the dog get away then? My goodness!

she got out of the pet minders backyard in January!, and has been on the run since then, she is truly an amazing dog, to have fended for herself for so long, but, of course she cannot survive for in a healthy state for much longer, she is very thin right now, and goodness knows what she has been eating..

Did they manage to encourage the dog out of the ravine yet?

Poor animal :sad1:

no, it is not going so well now, they had a tracker who was staying in the ravine near her, he was starting to gain her trust, but then someone came into the ravine with a dog, while the tracker was not there and disturbed chelsea's food bowl, and water dish, and now chelsea has not come back, now this is second hand info to me, so i may not have it a 100%, but it is not going how everyone hoped, poor dog, she does not trust anyone anymore, i pray she gets out.
