We have a DD her name is ElsaCraig. We went with the Elsa spelling because people would know how to say it. I think the other spelling was AilysiaCraig.
It meant small rocky island.

When we named her this I found the name in a baby book of names. It said it is an island off the coast of Scotland. Then i heard about again during one of the winter olympics.

No one in her class believes her that her name is an island.

Does anyone know if this is true. Is there in Island named this? DD would be crushed if this in not true. Please tell me it is.

If it truely means small rocky island that is neat because DD is small and solid as a rock, and has a major fiesty attitude.

Thanks

Yes, but I know it by a different spelling- Ailsa Craig. It is a small island off the coast of Girvan. I believe there is a bird sanctuary there.

Thank you I couldnt remember the other spelling. But that was 8yrs ago.DD will be so happy:cutie: .

Neat picture. She will have to show her class.

all my scots relatives think my son was named after the Caledonian Macbrayne ferry (the 'Cal-Mac') as he's called Callum Mackenzie and is often referred to as Cally Mac :rotfl2:

Guys, is Ailsa Craig also the rock/island known as Paddy's Milestone? You can see Ailsa Craig from Turnberry can't you!? I'm up in Inverclyde, so I'm down to Seamill to walk my dog along the beach from time to time. Beautiful stretch.

Yes, Paddy's Milestone is the Ailsa Craig. :)
