Anyone from Peterborough?

We visited Peterborough last summer and would like to return this summer to Riverview Park and Zoo.

I have a couple of questions...

1) Is Warsaw Caves worth a visit? Our kids are 3 and 5 and loved the caves we visited near Blue Mountain. Are these ones worth the extra 30-minute drive?

2) We visited a cute little country crafts store in downtown Peterborough last year and now I can't find it online. Do you happen to know the name/location?

3) Any good restaurant suggestions?

Other ideas?

Thanks so much!

The name of the craft store is Craftworks.

I have never been to the caves so can't help you there.

I haven't been to the caves since I was a kid. What kind of restaurants are you looking for?

There is lots of great resturants in Ptbo. again if you tell what you like we'll be give you some recommendation.

I've never been to the caves, but the kid has, with school, she (@ 8 yrs old) thought it was cool!

OT- Sherry :wave2: Hi- who is Keegan? Still in Port? what are your dates for WDW? Our thanksgiving or the US one?

I grew up in Peterborough just a few minutes away from the Zoo. Whenever we go back to visit my parents, the kids (11& 8) still ask to go. They've really done a nice job with the play area. In summer, the small train ride is also fun. Enjoy

We used to visit Peterborough a lot growing up and now my mom lives there, so I too haven't been the caves since I was young and am unfamiliar with the craft shop.

However, I can certainly advise you on restaurants. Every time we visit, we have to go to Hot Belly Moma's. It is the best restaurant! We were so shocked when we went there because it seems like a place you would find downtown TO. It is creole/cajun food and we absolutely love it. :goodvibes Great, you made me hungry ;)

Craftworks - thank you! I would never have found that. I can't wait to check it out again.

As for restaurants, seeing as the kids will be with us, we'd like something kind of fun and different, but kid-friendly. Hot Belly Mama's sounds great to me, but do you think there is anything for kids there - or my DH who doesn't like spicy?

I'm sure they have the usual chain restaurants? Just thought it might be fun to try a local, fun spot.

Thanks for your help everyone.

Even my mom who refuses to eat Mexican food loves Hot Belly Mama's. :) They do have the usual chains (including Mexicali Rosas) as well as a good "Pizza Factory" too! :goodvibes
