We are getting a TT and want to take it on our trip next year to WDW ... however I am trying to figure out how mnay days I should honestly plan for down and back. We have the 3 kids, we have never gone more than 5 hours on a camping trip with them. Any advice on when to leave time wise or any other advice is greatly appreciated!

We drive from PA. However, we aren't towing anything when we do. It takes us 18-19 hours from the NE area of PA. We drive for 12 hours or so on the first day and finish up the trip on day 2. I don't know if towing will slow you down or not, but I thought I'd give you a starting point.... :confused3

We tow from Allentown. Yes, towing does slow you down. We pull a 21ft Kiwi hybrid. It takes about 19 hours of driving time. We stop at the KOA in Florence,SC, slightly over half way. Generally, we get up early both days of travel and are on the road by 3am. This trip, in about 2 weeks, we will be leaving early since we are travelling on a week day and want to hit the Beltway around DC before rush hour, so we will be up and on the road by about 1am.

:moped:

Just wanted to add - FW is worth the trip. We have done this for about the last 9 years.

We drive from PA, normally with a TT in tow (this year, we are splurging and staying in a cabin - with the price of gas, I think the price would actually be the same  ). We also stop at the Florence KOA. It's listed as the "half way point to Walt Disney World". :cheer2:

Hi, We have a TT and it took us 19 hours to get there last year. We did about 13 hours the first day and then 6 the next. This year we are going to get as far down as possible and then stop to sleep for the night. I definetly want to hit FW around lunch time. This was our first long trip - our furthest before going to Disney was to Williamsburg VA. We have two girls and they did really well. I kept snacks in the van and had videos and coloring stuff, etc... Even had the dog...they all did great.

Enjoy your new TT! We love ours!

Alyssa
