Anyone from New Orleans going Christmas Week?

We finally got our house emptied out and ready for demo. Secured a place to live for a while and are going to Disney for 12 days of Christmas fun. Just wondering if anyone on this board is from New Orleans and going too. We have been looking forward to this trip to ease alot of the tension and worries hopefully more residents are able to join in and put the crazy stuff behind you for a while...Wanna help? We'll be there, too. Our house is almost finished, but we're having the floors done while we're gone so we don't have to smell the fumes.

A trip to Disney is just what my family needs right now - we've had enough reality, now it's time for something else.

Not from N.O. but I wanted to say "Have a great vacation!"

We did this 5 years ago after we took 15 feet of water from Hurricane Floyd. Our damage wasn't nearly as great as yours. The Disney trip was a thank you to my stepdaughters for being so wonderful, understanding and helpful. Its a wonderful place to recharge after such a trying time.

So have a blast and good luck with everything else.

Thanks, Eeyore. Our trip as well is a big Christmas present for our 5yr old she has been taking it pretty hard loosing all of her toys and changing schools and relocating. Hopefully this will work for us, this is her 6th trip to DW and she is pretty excited.

We WERE from New Orleans too. We are just getting ready to get our own place after 3 months of living with family. We won't be there Christmas, but wonderful husband suprised us with a 4 day trip over Thanksgiving!
It was a much needed break for reality and it was SO good for the kids (two DSs, ages 7 and 4). We went, tried not to think about the $, and just had a great time! I hope it works the same for you!
