Welcome aboard :boat: !! I have a little borother :earsboy: , age 11 now, you can reach him at JAKE680@HOTMAIL.COM i'm sure he's like to make some more friends before he goes

One week from today I'll be getting up @ 4:00 am to get to the airport by 5:00 so we make our 6:00 flight to atlanta, wait for 2 hours, then get to florida by 1:00 or so, we're really hopeng to catch the flight to orlando before our schedualed one, flying standby, but we have confirmed seats on the second, which of course, was cheaper :cool1:

We got our hair cuts yesterday too, we're all rewady!!!

ITS ONLY 1 WEEK :bitelip: , I gotta finish packing soon, have a few more shorts plus the things I'll be wearing to work between now and then :hourglass

 I'm packing!! I'm packing!! I'M PACKING

I am trying to NOT overpack! I have mixed feelings. I really want to cruise, but I don't want it to end!!! That will be sad!

Did I mention.....I'M PACKING :rotfl2:

Hope,

We are leaving after school :teacher: on Friday and driving part of the way to FL. We will have about a 10 hour drive total. We plan to arrive at the port about 12:00. Someone mentioned a lunch buffet at 12:30, please tell me more...

I have another question *** the Rum Point Excursion? Has anyone ever been? Is it best to book with Disney, or try it on your own?

Be joyful...

Joyful, we are also leaving after school on Friday. We have about a 10 hour drive too :teeth: We are driving to Titusville Florida. We will only 30 minutes from the port.

Lunch buffet starts when boarding begins. It is really good. We are going to try to go to Parrot Cay for lunch this time. We went to Topsiders last time. It was good, but want to try the other option.

Just pulled out Megan's clothes. She doesn't have many clothes.....Guess she will be re-wearing some :teeth: Don't have time to purchase any new clothes.

Congratulations, Hope, on getting your passport! I was going to post on the passport thread on the cruise board but I didn't want to highjack the thread with personal messages. KWIM? You know I actually conjured your passports to you. I did the passport expedition spell right here at my desk. ;)

We're leaving Thursday when dh gets home from work. I teach a co-op class on Thursdays from 2:00 to 4:00. I can't imagine being able to concentrate knowing I'm about to leave. If I wasn't going to miss class the following Thursday while we are in...."at sea"...I'd blow off this coming Thursday as well.

The trip chain is almost gone, the paper and mail people have been contacted to stop delivery on the 7th, and tomorrow I'm calling the sheriff's office for house checks while we're gone. Since the sprinkler system is being turned back on next week, there's a good possibility by the time we come back home, we'll have green grass again.

Our flight leaves at 1:50pm on Friday. We don't arrive until 10:25pm in Orlando, so we are staying at the Airport Hyatt. We are due to be picked up by FL Tours at 10am, so hopefully we will be at the port around 11am.

I can't believe all the conversation I have missed!!

It is so exciting all this planning, I can''t believe we are on the home stretch now!! One week from today, we have a 10:30 flight and are staying overnight at the Sheraton near the airport. I am hoping to have everyone out of the hotel by 9am on Saturday and back to the airport for the busses to Port Canaveral!! Whew!!!

I am writing lists of things to remember!! I can't remember anything these days, have to write them down!!
Still have to get my hand sanitizers and container of hand wipes, plane ride kid activities, snacks for the port, what else.....

Waiting to pack the last minute clothes I ordered.....and stock up on some meds(just in case)

Oh I can barely hold in the excitement :cloud9:

I am still trying to decide on the rolling cooler?? Is anyone else taking one for their drinks or for the beach?? Any opinions on this???

Oh BTW Hope- the door stop should work perfect. We used my girls shoes last year and worked fine!!

We are going to bring a softsided cooler. Don't know if we will bring the one on wheels. I might bring it just for the idea of haviing extra storage for the trip home. Not quite sure yet.

Jill

I forgot to mention that CVS has hand wipes the individual ones. buy 1 get 1 free.

I just put the DVD player in the van. I wanted to make sure I could get a screen in the middle and the back. I only have two dd's and since we are taking an extra, there are so many things to think of, like seating in the van!

Has anyone cruised since "03? I was told the drop off was different now. It was pretty crazy when we cruised last. We formed a line on the street, turned into the terminal area, they checked our ID's and then we drove to the porters. Also, there was a tent where you could leave your luggage in the parking lot across the street and they picked it up for you. I didn't like that idea. I was worried mine wouldn't make it!

I am trying to figure out my budget today. I am going to try and bring some cash home! :rotfl: We have to buy our car tags when we get home. DH wants me to save some $ for that!!! :rotfl2: HMMM, let me see, car tags or pictures from Shutters, like that is a hard decision!!

Time to wash more clothes. I told the girls that they were going to wear old clothes to school next week, everything else is packed

Later......Hope

I am so ready for this week to be over!!!! I want to be there already!!! I'm so glad my parents didnt tell me the minnute they booked, 75 days or so was a GREAT suprise, not toooo long of a wait, yet still an eternity....I dont know what I'll do when I start booking my own cruises.........

Mom filled out all the docs yesterday, she is having us sign all of them on Sunday, we all have a "Due Date" for packing on Sunday, we have to have everything we can packed! Which is really already done for me, I jsut need to put my work closthes in now :P

Havto work a 4-10 shift tonight...ah pooey

6 Days(probably the longest 6 of our lives) left! :hourglass

Everyone....TAKE A DEEP BREATH!! This week will be over soon enough. Then we will all be complaining that our vacation is OVER!! :sad2:

Let's enjoy this last week of planning. I don't want to rush it. (even though I am already packed!) :rotfl:

Hopelea...we are staying in Titusville the night before too at the Hampton Inn. Is that were you will be?

We are leaving Friday am. 9 hr drive from Atlanta. Can't wait.

I'm in the sunroom getting ready to pack as I type this. I'm wondering how likely it will be that we will need jackets, long sleeved shirts and other non-summer clothes? I was thinking it might be cool at night or in the overly air conditioned areas but what about on land? Any possibility that we will be in anything other than shorts or dresses this time of year?

I'm going to post this on the general board as well for other April cruisers.

Hope, I know you've packed everything but snowsuits and the kitchen sink. :)

We are staying at a Comfort Inn at exit 215 in Titusville Friday night. We are going to do our best to get through Atlanta before Rush Hour. The dd's have to be at school until at least lunch on Friday. But, we will be packed and ready to go as soon as they finish their tests.

I don't have that much packed :rotfl2: . I am trying to pack lighter this trip. I really don't think it is going to work!!

Oooohh it's almost time!!! :flower:

I'm watching the Port Canaveral webcam and I see the ship and I know that once it leaves and comes back, then it's MY turn!!!

I read somewhere on these boards that people bring pillowcases to get signed? And they drop them off at guest services with sharpies? I thought that was so cute, and I considered getting one signed for my neice in CA, then I walked past a new store last night and saw pillowcases for 99 cents...and they were DISNEY! I'm pretty sure they had a Tinkerbell one, a Buzz one, and a Mickey one. So I may just have to go back and buy one!

But what I'm wondering now is, 1) Do they really sign pillowcases for you? and 2) I won't have a kid with me, so does that matter?

Thanks!
-Katy

Joyful, it's funny you should ask that. I was just in my daughter's room, princess dress in hand, asking myself whether to pack it or not. I'm packing it! Better to have it and not wear it than wish I had done otherwise.

We packed princess dresses last cruise. This cruise both dd's said, NO WAY. They wore them on semi-formal night. I have some really cute pictures.

We are doing the pillowcases again this year. We dropped them off at GS in a ziploc bag with our stateroom # on it. They never magically appeared in our room. I had to go back and ask for them. I bought some last week. I don't like them. I washed them and they need to be ironed. Another thing for me to do this week!!!

Time is going to fly now. We have something every day this next week. Gymnastics on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Softball Tuesday & Thursday. I have to work Tues, Wed., & Thurs. The girls have their SATS starting Monday. I am calling the school Monday to find out what time they will finish on Friday. :) Then we are gone!

Hope
