Anyone for the Western cruise 4/9/05???

Well, I started a family feud today!
My brother and sister in law were having a birthday party for my 8 yr. old nephew today. Well, when I called down there to see what I could bring, my sister in laws mother was there and answered the phone. She told me they were on their way to the Dr.s office with the 18 month old twins. Come to find out, they have broncitis! But they are not cancelling the bday party. I told them we couldn't go because I don't need my kids to get anything before we leave. Besides, we just got over a bug in my house!!!!!
Well, they are mad at me. :sad2: They said they were not contagious!WHAT!!!!
Anyway, I just had to vent!! Oh I cannot wait for this trip now!!!!

Girls and I are off to Walmart to do some trip shopping! Thanks for listening!!

aww, thats no fun, Madden6 :sad2:

I started packing my clothes yesterday, the things that i wont wear betwen now and then, like my sleveless shirts and my shorts, to cold here

Time 2 watch the wonder set sail soon on the webcam :goodvibes I tried watching the magic yesterday but they changed the cam view on me like 5 min before, I was so mad....

only 18 more days! :hourglass

Wow! Lots of posts since I last posted and checked in. And more new friends. What's our grand total now?
HookedonDCL--Thanks for the invite to join you for the wine tasting, I may take you up on that. At least that way I will "know" someone and not look like such a lush.
Kate-- I don't blame you for trying to keep your family germ free this close to vacation, especially since everyone is probably more vulnerable (sp?) after getting over the last bug. So far we have been fairly healthy (knock on wood), the baby has a cough right now, but I am trying to manage it so he doesn't get too bad.
I picked up a snorkle set for DD, but am not sure if I like it that much. Speedo brand, the mask seems fine, but the mouth piece doesn't have the little valve at the top that stops water from going in and the flippers are pretty hard. It was about $10 less than the set at Costco, but the $10 may be worth those couple of features. Opinions anyone :confused3
20 days to go...

:teacher: I've lost count :confused3

I wouldn't want to infect my children with anything this close to the cruise!! I would be very careful also. We have a family gathering Easter weekend. There will be some one there sick, there always is. I will tell the girls not to get near any one!

I keep adding things to my must buy before the cruise list. I bought the girls disposable cameras. I don't know if they will use them or not, but we will have them, just in case!

should I pack those in my carry on? I have read so many mixed review with that subject.

Must go run into town. Have a great afternoon. Three weeks and we will be watching the sun set in Key West! :jumping1:

Definately take them in your carry-on. There is so much in the first few hours that you dont want to miss pictures of if you dont get your luggage till later!

Only 18 days!!! :hourglass

Hi all!

I bought 2 waterproof cameras today to use on our excursions and last week I bought a snorkel set for my niece. She has been practicing in the bathtub.

I'm still looking for childrens earplanes for her. The air pressure on the plane really bothers her ears, but I can't find them. I couldn't find them for our Christmas trip to WDW either,so we just had her eat skittles, which seemed to help. But she still kept asking for the earplanes.

We are all getting really excited now.

Yvette

Not much to say, dont know if i mentioned, but we ordered new bubles and they were fishy ones :) much large this time, we're gonna bring a few boxes of them 4 the deck Party

dcdevil2007 I sent you a private message.

I have no children this week. Time to pack!! I think the only thing that I need now is a few more underwater cameras.

Yvette-The earplugs you might be able to get from the airlines. Ask them. We have gotten them for youngest DS before from the airlines on the plane. You could ask beforer boarding also.

We are so close!!!!

:jumping1: Yes, we are close. I picked up the last few items for our trip! The only thing I forgot to pick up is air freshener! I suppose that is a must! :)

I wish I could leave my 11 yr. dd at home!! She is going through her pre teen mood swings! :earseek: Will it ever get better???

Not for a while i'm afraid, my lil sis is turning 13 and still has those nice mood swings :rotfl:

JKS-Responded to your PM

I have never been on a cruise before. Please explain to me why you need a airfreshener. Sorry if it seems like a dumb question.

Jill

4 people using one bathroom........how do you say it nicely??? Sometimes it stinks in there :rotfl: If I could get my dh to use another bathroom, I'd be happy :teeth:

Have a great day. Mine started out terrible. Megan got contacts about a month ago. She is having a hard time getting them in quickly. It makes for rough mornings here. I am at the end of my rope with her. Things must change soon or I am going to have a meltdown :sad2:

We will be leaving soon.............that is a happy thing!!! :Pinkbounc

Must go to work.........talk later.............Hope

What has everyone decided to do on Grand Cayman and Cozumel? I think we will do Captain Marvin's 2 hour for Sting Ray City. I have a 4-1/2 year old who can't go on Disney's excersion but can go on Captain Marvins. I've been debating Paradise Beach vs. Mr. Sancos on Cozumel.

What is everyone going to do? Anyone doing the beach thang on Cozumel? If so, which beach are you going to?

We are not sure what we are doing in Cozumel yet. What is everyone else doing there?

Jill

Since this is our first time on a Caribbean cruise and we are not familiar with the surroundings we are doing Disney excursions. The next time we may book our own. On Grand Cayman we are doing the Stingray City Reef Sail & Snorkel. In Cozumel we are doing Dolphin Encounter. Key West we are doing our own thing. I can't wait time seems to be standing still.

On our first DC we also booked through Disney. This trip we are booking our GC excursion with Disney. We really don't want to do too much this trip. I think we did too much on our first cruise. This time I would like to sit back, relax and enjoy the ship. I didn't take my time. I felt like I was always rushing. This time I really want to soak it all in. Remind me of that when I am running around :teeth:

I would like to do Paradise Beach. But, to be perfectly honest, Cozumel scares me! :confused3 My parents want to do Paradise Beach. They did it in January and LOVED it. I don't know what I am going to do yet.
We did the beach break excursion through DC on our first. We did enjoy it for the most part. The bus service to and from was our only complaint. I would do it again. My dd's really want to stay on the ship or at least be back in time to "put their face on a mouse pad". That is an activity they missed last time and if it is offered again, they don't want to miss it.

Rainy day here so no softball practice :) It is a good time to pack more clothes!!

Hope :wave2:

I'll be packing my dress clothes this sunday. wont be whearing them again till the cruise, just have to dress up Saturday morning for Orentation. after that, no more dress-up for me till the cruise :dancer:

On GC, Cozumel, and key West we're doing our own thing, none of really appealed to our family, Most of us are going parasailing on CC though :Pinkbounc

I dont Think I'm getting off at Cozumel at all, It just scares me that its mexico :rotfl: And really the other 2 islands I'll do in like an hour or so, I just wana shop a few blocks and head back

Oh man that was a lot of pages to read through!

Hi everyone! I'm Katy and I'll be on this April 9th cruise with you all! :wave2:

My girlfriend Pam and I are first time cruisers, and we will be flying down from NYC and spending the 8th at the Magic Kingdom and staying at the All Star Movie Resort!! Which I am so excited about. It will totally get me in the Disney mood! :earsgirl:

I've been awaiting this cruise since June of 04, when it was booked by Pam as a surprise gift for me! YAY!

We are booked with a kayak tour in Key West, stingray city in Grand Cayman, and horseback riding in Cozumel.

I AM SO EXCITED!

And now, a few questions...

1) As far as Palo reservations go, how do I know what night to book it for?? I'm really confused about the dinner rotation/schedule. And I've been reading SO much about everything! I don't understand how I pick a night for Palo, when it looks like every night there is something exciting that I don't want to miss! We have the early seating, if that makes a difference.

2) How strict is this dress code with the no flip flops at dinner?! All I wear in the summer is flip flops! Are cheap simple sandals from Payless ok? Also, do the dining rooms get chilly? But I guess I should bring a hoddie along anyways, right?

3) We decided to rent a car and drive ourselves from Disney to the Port. We got a great deal with Budget, but now I'm concerned that the distance from the rental car drop-off is farther than I first thought. Anybody know anything about that?

4) What else should I know/pack/mentally prepare myself for?! LOL! :rotfl:

I'm so giddy about all this. It's all I can talk about. And I can't believe I JUST found this thread! I'm sure I'll have more questions...ad I know where to come to ask them!

Thanks in advance!
-Katy

Welcome Aboard Katy!! :boat:

1 and 2. Palo is for any night you wish too book, and there they will REALLY enforce dress code. You jsut go to Guest services the first day for the best chance as to when you actually want your night, If you wait too long it could be filled! :earseek: In the main dining rooms they really ask you to wear dressier shoes and clothes, although they will still serve you, after the first few nights they might get a bit testy with you.

3. We are renting a car from Budget too. It is aprox. 3-4 Miles from the disney Cruise Terminal. Budget does free shuttles to the port though.

4. Deffinately pack your sunglasses, hats, and sunscreen, oh yeah, and anything else you can shove into a bag :P
