Anyone for HHI 2011? Roll call time!

I wouldn't drive straight through either. We do the drive from Buffalo and we stop for the night. Mainly because I don't want to be exhausted when we get there. We're heading down middle of October and I'm trying to figure out just where to stop so the second day is maybe just a 4 hour drive.

I would suggest staying in Rock Hill, SC which is right at 4 hours away - or Columbia, SC which is right at 3 hours away.

Just check out Trip Advisor - there are a ton of hotels in both cities.

We have stayed at the Homewood Suites in Columbia, SC - it was really nice!
Homewood Suites has REALLY nice bed linens! Very plush, a great night of sleep is always in store at Homewood Suites!

I don't want to drive straight through either but the problem is that we have a wedding to attend for a very close family member on October 1st and our checkin is October 2nd.
Right now our rough plan is to attend wedding, speeches and dinner, mingle for a bit and be out by 7-8pm then start the drive right after. My hubby will drive while kids and I try to sleep, then I will take over when hubby gets too tired (which we expect will be around 3-4am. With minimal stops, we should arrive by approx 4pm and spend the afternoon relaxing and will hit the sack early that night. Worst case scenario - we can't do it and we stop somewhere and delay our checkin until the 3rd.
The good thing is that have done it before when we drove to Orlando (24 hours straight through) and it wasn't too bad but that was 6 years ago. (before we discovered flying out of Buffflao).

We will too. Our check in is on Oct 2nd too. We hope to get there by noon from NC, but we are a caravan of two cars. I know I can but I don't know about my DBIL (Bro-In-Law). As they are coming from OH to us on Oct 1st.

I will keep a lime green mickey head out somewhere.

Also, does anyone know if you need your own clubs for the golf lesson?

Ok so I know this is the 2011 HHI thread but so excited I had to shout it out that I made our June 2012 reservations today!!! 7 nights at the end of June and we'll be at our HHI happy place!! Woohoo!!
