We'll be there Pop from the 9th to the 18th. We have a grand gathering going with 16 of us and DH was just talking to his brother so we might have 20 of us.

We just decide in the past couple of weeks it was time for the family trip - kids 6 & 8. We are looking at Dec 2 - 10 or first week of Feb 2009. Now I'm worried. Have we missed the boat?...everyone seems to be already booked for Dec. Will I have a problem getting the rooms I want (poly 5 nights/AKL 3 nights? I understand that I can't book Feb until Aug, is that right?

IMO, Christmas is the time to go! It's beautiful with so many new activities.

You probably won't have a problem if you book now, but if you wait, of course. Your options may be more limited.

In 2006 I booked in October for a second week of December trip. I had only 2 choices of onsite hotel, AKL and YC, and I really had to play around with our dates.

That's why this year I've already booked for WL December 4 through 11!

I started planning our trip a few weeks ago and booked Dec 7-15th in a 2 bedroom villa at Old Key West resort. We got a 40% off code in the mail, so I called the next morning! It will be me, DW, DD (4), DS (1), MIL and FIL.

Very excited! Now I'm checking out dates and AP rates for the Uni hotels to extend our stay a few days (3 more nights at either RP or PFB).

This will be our first time at the parks for the X-mas season, so re-listening to all the podcasts dealing with the season to figure out what we want to do. And trying to plan our meals to make our ADRs, so listening to Kevins dinning reviews.

Since you never know what will happen and we have a few extra bucks, want to try and make this trip better than the last!

Now, if Southwest will start releasing Dec. rates I can get the flight booked!

I don't know where you got that August date ...

You can book now - and probably should if you heart is set on a particular resort. You'll only neeed to put down a deposit equal to one night's stay to hold the reservation (but since it looks like you want to split your stay at two different resorts - that will mean 2 reservations ...)

You cannot make ADRs (Advanced Dining Resrevations) until 180 days out (190 days if you're staying on site ...)

I was going wait until April to book our December trip - but changed my mind when I saw how many people were already booking ... And I'm glad I did, because rooms at the AAA rate are (have!!) filling up fast ...

Does anyone know when (what days) they film the Christmas Day Parade that they air on TV Christmas morning? I think I read somewhere (I can't find it now) that they film it over 2 days and they close part of MK to the public. Is this true?

Thanks to the responses I received I was concerned about not getting what I wanted. I decided to go ahead and book since we had definite preferences on resorts. Call WDW first thing this morning and discovered I had a 20% off room attached to my name. Call back this afternoon and booked. Glad I did as garden view rooms at Poly were difficult to find. We had to play around with the dates quite a bit, but managed at last.

So we're going Dec 7 - 15th. First 3 nights we're staying at AKL Bunk bed with pool view then moving to Poly for 5 nights garden view. I can't wait..so here my happy dance...

We will be at POFQ from 12/8 to 12/16 for DD's first trip to see Mickey! We can't wait to see her expression when she meets "Rella" for the first time. My BFF and her DH are going with us, it will be their first time, and I am so excited to be sharing this with them. I think we will have 2 more converts when it's all said and done!

I've absolutely started planning. I'm a freak about it and creat an itinerary with what days we will be attending which parks and where we will be eating. EVERYTHING!! I put notes on the itinerarty like the best places to watch parades, short cuts to parks and around the parks, etc. I can't wait to go again. I'll have a 5, 7 & 9month old, ALL GIRLS!!

Staying at the POLY for the first time!!! We've always stayed at the moderate, but I want to treat my family this year. I've always dreamed of staying at the POLY.

Hi there! SW will list their flight for Dec. in June. I can't stand the wait. I want to book everything now. I'm hoping to get a discount coupon or rate for the POLY so I'm holding off on booking for our trip.

Make sure to fit in the Osborne Lights at the Studios. It's truly and amazing experience.
