Anyone flown on this type of plane???

i ask my mom if wheel chairs fit on board and she ask why. i told her because they would need one to get me off the plane my knees were like jelly. it was very windy that day and the plane would just drop feet at a time like a roller coaster in the air. i don't like small planes:(

We fly the little DASH-8 prop jobs out of Pendleton into the big city. They are not bad. I think they seat about 26 or so. What we always laugh about is the early morning flight. They let everybody on board, we get seated, the flight attendant comes on and tells us all to move to the back of the plane so we can take off. The first time we just looked at each other but now we are use to it. They are actually quite smooth unless the weather is bad (did that once don't want to do it again but it wouldn't have been so bad if we could have just landed when our turn came instead of having to wait for all the big boys We just kept flying around in circles for like a half an hour before we could land.)

We've had better flights on these than on some of the smaller jets. Go figure.

Me personally I like the big jets in first class but you can't have everything.

I am glad you asked this question because we are flying the exact same thing in Dec. to WDW.
We are used to flying the bigger jets but really wanted to avoid the layover in Atlanta so we opted for Deltas regional service on comair.
Believe me I did A BUNCH of research before purchasing tickets and what folks are saying here makes me feel that much more comfortable about our decision.
LOL to you and yours and hope you have a great trip!

We flew on one of those from MSP to Cincinnati last Sept. It was fine flying but the seats are very uncomfortable. It was like sitting on a log or one of the bleacher seats at the old Kingdome. Also - there is not much room for carry-ons so if you carry a big one you will have to stow it below during the flight. The plane is perfectly safe though - we would fly on one again.
