Hi, having read that the BCV views aren't particularly awe inspiring and that the villas are kind of at the back on the end of the hotel - has anyone stayed there and felt like the 'poor relation' compared to those staying at the main BC hotel?

Just wondered as I am thinking of adding on points there for the SAB pool and walk to Epcot - and I have not really heard any bad reviews of BCV - but wondered whether this could feel the case to some of you?:confused3

Just trying to get a balanced view - as I am normally so focussed on the plus points of DVC/WDW that I am trying to make a good informed decision rather than just getting carried away with all the great stuff as usual!:goodvibes

We added on at BCV because of SAB, the short walk to Epcot, and the dedicated 2 bedrooms with 2 queens. I have never felt like a poor relation when I've stayed at BCV. We both love the resort as do everyone we've ever taken there.

This past weekend, my DCuz paid cash for a DVC 2 bedroom at BCV. It was the absolute furthest down the hall and the longest walk from the lobby, BUT it was very convenient to the bus stop and the parking lot. No one in the family complained about road noise and some watched Illuminations from the balcony and were very happy.

I have never felt that way. I do not mind walking over to the main building. If anything, I feel lucky knowing that I have a full kitchen and a living room. We usually go to Disney as a group of 7 (me, DH, DS, DD, DSIL, 2 DGSs). We feel that it makes the vacation better staying in the same villa rather than separate rooms.

Getting a 1 BR unit for 25 points (approx $250.00) as opposed to a standard room (Approx $400.00) makes me feel like a Lucky Cousin.

I've noticed a little coolness when I've checked in after BCV first opened. It's almost the same I get at BLT. I think it takes a little time for the people who have been working at the hotels to accept the addition to 'their' hotel. It's gotten better year after year and even when it was at it's worst, you deal with these people at check-in and hopefully that's about it.

I think I'm starting to like BCV more and more each time I stay there.

The views are never a make a break for a vacation for me. I always book a BW view at the BW if they have it, but if they don't I'm not going to sit home if I were looking to stay at the BW. I'll stay at any DVC resort they have for the dates they have.

If it's really hot or a light drizzle or something, we know the path cutting thru the BC hotel to get out right by the bridge to get to EPCOT so it's very convenient since most of our trips are in EPCOT.

I feel like the rich one when I'm popping clothes into my own washer/dryer, taking a jacuzzi with a bath bomb from Basin, enjoying my guaranteed balcony (unlike the main resort), enjoying the very close walk to the parking lot, etc.

I feel very special coming home from Epcot and going thru that little gate on the right.....

I love BCV. The villas are in a nice building; they're not stuck in the back of the hotel somewhere. It's a very short walk from the lobby to the entrance of the villa building. Much shorter than, say walking from the lobby to your building at Port Orleans Riverside.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I only look out my window once a day - to see if it's raining before I leave in the morning. I don't care about the view.

I've never felt like the "poor relation" there. I've always felt like the people staying in the main BC hotel were dumb for not booking a villa. (Oops, that wasn't very nice, but I can't think of a better way to put it.)

BCV always feels like home! We are in our own corner of the world... compared with the other Epcot resorts.

You're kidding, right??

Never felt that way. Feel rather proud to have BCV as a home resort. :cool1:

thanks everyone - pleased to hear that you all enjoy it there so much!!:thumbsup2 - perhaps one day we will get to call it home too!!:yay:

we only stayed there once, but I recall a lovely room, with a lovely view overlooking a quiet pool,a short walk to epcot or the big pools,it was so nice!

I know many will disagree, but we have stayed at every DVC resort and every Disney deluxe resort many times and I feel that any of the DVCs that they added on after the fact, have that feeling to some degree.

That is why in my opinion that BWV is the only combo DVC resort that truly is a good plan, equal to the Inn in all ways.

When BCVs were added there was no place to put them, so they built them in the parking lot and tennis courts of the Beach Club.

I also think that it takes at least a year for the staff to get used to the addition of DVC to the resorts and that adjustments causes for some less than stellar guest service at the combo resorts. I have personally experienced this at BCV, VLW, AKL and BLT shortly after they opened.

A big 2 thumbs up :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 to all the above!!

I felt great walking through the lobby of BC and knowing I was on the way to our own villa! We enjoyed our BCV stay so much that we added on points there.

LOL, I noticed the same thing when BCV first opened. Just a coolness. Not now and not for many years. We always received great service though.

I feel like an honored guest there now. We even received a welcome platter with chocolate strawberries, cookies and milk last week at BCV from the hotel.

There are so many friendly CMs at the BC and over the years we've gotten to know them. Wonderful CMs.:wizard:
