I'm looking for some camcorder recommendations! I have some birthday cash to spend and picked up a new lens for my DSLR and would love to pick up a video camera as well! I'd like something around $200, but can stretch to about $300 perhaps. I've looked at a few, but it has left me even more confused!
Many are HD now, is SD ok or would I do much better going ahead and getting a dedicated HD camcorder?
We'll be using it for disney world, vacations, dance recitals, and every day memory making with two small children.
I was looking at this Panasonic HD440, but it seems to have somewhat mixed reviews on the video quality.
I also saw this Kodak PlaySport ZX5 mentioned on the boards, but it seems so small! I also saw the PlayTouch mentioned. Are these really a full function/feature video recorder? I like that the PlaySport seems 'tough' and is waterproof up to 10ft!
I also saw the Sony Bloggie mentioned around the boards as an excellent 'disney camcorder'. It has quite decent reviews as well!
Sony Handycam SX45 - found some nice reviews of the video aspect of this, but camera quality not great. Fine by me on that aspect as I'll never use it for stills. This is SD though, not HD.
I've looked at this Pansonic as well, but it is SD and not HD which I'm not sure of since the general consensus is that HD reigns supreme...
Of the above that I've really looked into, I'm leaning more towards the 1st I linked Panasonic or the PlayTouch/PlaySport. I'm just not sure though! Thoughts? Opinions? Anyone have any of these??
