Drinking tons of water since the procedure, but slept most of Friday of course, took it easy yesterday. In general this is not an issue, it's just since the procedure and med.
I would guess the constipation is due to the inactivity, then. Try walking, it really gets you going. Add a stool softener (Docusate Sodium, DSS), maybe. Are you on anything for pain? Pain meds are constipating.
If you want to try a safe, "non-explosive", cramp-free laxative, go out and buy Phillip's Cramp-Free Laxative Dietary Supplement Caplets.. Take 2 at night - with 8 oz. of water.. If it doesn't work the first night, it's safe to do the same thing again the second night..
I have pain medication that I have to take on a fairly frequent basis and this has been a life saver for me.. It's been approved by my gastro for long term use if necessary, but I only take it occasionally..
However, you should not take this medication if you have known kidney disease without checking with your doctor first..
Macrobid is one of the many meds that I can't take.. It caused severe nausea, severe stomach cramps, and severe diarrhea..
You might also want to try to eat a bowl of fiber cereal just before going to bed at night..
Thanks C. Ann. I tried the prune cure last night which has always helped me in the past and now I took half a dose of milk of magnesia, but I have to space that out from the macrobid. UGH.
