We did the F & W festival this weekend and notice several large groups with tee shirts that read " Dream Flight," then a group name like " Scooby Do." A large percentage used wheel chairs they had clearly brought from home. I find the idea of of traveling with other families with members who are disabled somewhat appealing. Anyone here involved with this group or know anything about it?

From their website, www.dreamflight.org

"Dreamflight is a registered UK charity whose purpose is to send seriously ill children on their 'Holiday of a Lifetime' to the theme parks in central Florida."

Bless their hearts, I hope they all enjoyed themselves. Thanks for the response.

Cool. Glad someone knew. I had never heard of it.

There is a similar charity run by the employees of Air Canada called "Dreams Take Flight". They select underprivledged children through local hospitals, school districts, etc, who have never been to WDW, and in one day fly from Canada to Orlando, visit MK, and then fly back to Canada! (Air Canada donates the planes and fuel, and other sponsors pay for shirts, park tickets, etc.)
It's a neat organization and the volunteers who head up each trip are really super people. I've spoken with them on many occasions and the even gave me a DTF pin!
They don't deal exclusively with disabled/terminally ill children, rather kids who have never been and who otherwise would not be able to go, but deserve it (poor honor-roll students, even).
