I'm with Ron. Never, ever had any food-related illness in all the years we've been dining at WDW.
Chicken Puke Pie at the Prime Time Cafe, I was sick as a dog for days, it hampered my enjoyment big time, ruined the Luau (I had some dry bread) and Boma (had a tiny bowl of soup)
Never again with the Chicken Puke Pie![]()
It was 2005 for me too! I really put a damper on the last 4 days of my trip, I could barely eat a thing and I visited every rest room in the WorldCass funny you mentioned this pie. My husband, told me it was not the best pie he ever had, he usually cleans all of his plates. But, he ate about more than half, and couldnt eat anymore, said it tasted wierd. Needless to say, the next day he was feeling alot under the weather. That was in 2005.
If your sickness is an orange type goo that comes out the back door, then that is grease and fat that your body can not store and it has to get out. this means you have had so much bad food your body can not take it anymore. If you keep it up you really start to get sick because and every thought of food makes you sick. (don't ask how I know that you can actually eat too much fat and grease followed by a trip to the hospital for dehydration).
A couple things, like other posters have said, it's not necessarily the food. We used to have tummy troubles & it turned out it was the water. We just aren't used to FL water no matter how often we go.
True food poisoning is not puking a couple times or having a bit of the runs. It is full out, can't leave the toilet, purging from all orifices sick. For days. It is not a puke twice, felt punk for 24 hours & then back at it. It is I want to DIE now sick. In many cases, this means going to the hospital sick. I know, I have been there twice, neither time at WDW. Although I have an acquaitance who was hospitalized after confirmed FP from the shrimp at Chef Mickey's. She spent a week in the hospital in Orlando, then came home & wound up back in the hospital for another 3 days. She wasn't quite right for several weeks.
So, while you may have a meal that doesn't agree with you, or you overindulge or you get a bug or the water doesn't work with your system & it's not pleasant, don't be so quick to label it food poisoning, but rather be glad that it isn't.
