Anyone ever went to WDW, then take a trip to DC and Back to WDW?

WE live in Phoenix, AZ so we are on the other side of the us from wdw. I was thinking, since we are going to wdw, maybe take a trip to Washington DC and back to wdw. The flight from mco to reagan airport is only 141 rt each. was thinking of flying on thurs and back on sat. what do you think?? Where would we stay?? how much more info can anyone give me on going to DC having never been there and trying to plan to go there in less than 2 weeks.

Certainly you could do this but, honestly, I would check out Independence Air (flyi.com). They won't get you into Reagan National (only Dulles) but their prices are incredible. Last week they were selling Dulles to MCO and back for $39 each way.

Just something to think about. Of course you would have to take a shuttle or cab to DC from there.
