They have just opened a route to Sanford, FL and its listed under Orlando?? Anyone ever use this airline? I've heard of Southwest but not Southeast, it appears from their website they are fairly new. Anyone have any input on this? They are offering $59 flights to Orlando/Sanford??

Are you talking about Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA)? The are a connection carrier owned by Delta. The Aircraft are mostly smaller (most +- 100 passengers but a good number less) but I've alway's had great service with them.

A lot of people have talked about Southeast here on the Transportation Board, especially people in the Allentown, PA, area.

They aren't ASA, the Delta Connection carrier. According to their web site (flyseal.com), Southeast airline is classified as a charter airline and operate under some different rules than Delta, United, and other commercial airlines. (I don't know what those rules are, though). They only fly into 8 cities, three of those in Florida (including Sanford).

I haven't seen any comments or reviews from anyone on here about Southeast.

Yes, I've heard of them. They have done chartered flights in the past, but have started commerical service. I believe they are based in Allentown, PA; and their aircraft are mid-size (seat 100-130 or so).

:)

I just got off their website and they just Started their route from Allentown to Orlando/Sanford. Obi-Wan I'm a little confused by your post, you first say :

A lot of people have talked about Southeast here on the Transportation Board, especially people in the Allentown, PA, area
Then you finish by saying:

I haven't seen any comments or reviews from anyone on here about Southeast.

Did you mean no recent comments? Nevertheless, thanks for the replies, I was just curious because of the low rates and we mostly have connecting flights only from Allentown . . .:(

I think he meant no one has flown on them or had experiences with them and reported about it here on the boards. :)

Just wanted to say Hi !! I noticed you were from Effort. I am from Stroudsburg. When are you going to Disney. Let me know if you find any good fares. We are plannin on flying out of Newark. How bout you???

Yeah, what CD said. :teeth:

Sorry about that. I have seen posts on here asking about Southeast, but the responses haven't actually been of the "customer review" type.

I saw the ads in the newspaper and on tv about Se Airlines but had just booked my December trip with Us Air a few days prior. For a future trip I would definitely consider Southeast.

Does anyone know how the transportation system is at Sanford?
Does Mears service that airport?
How much longer does it take to get from SFD to Disney than from MCO?

Dansyr: Hi Neighbor! I just came back from my vacation (for this year), was planning on going in Oct. 2003 and that's why I started this thread to see if anyone had actually flown on SE or could give some feedback on the Sanford airport. I have been flying out of Lehigh Valley Airport (Allentown), connecting flights are mostly what is available, unless you fly USAirways, they have 1 non-stop flight a day, good luck trying to get that one, I've been trying for the past 2 years!! I've been flying with Delta, they have connections stopping at Atlanta and Cinncinati, btw, I prefer to take the connection at Atlanta, much nicer airport. Anyway, if I find anything I'll post it here at the Transportation Board. Do you also work in NYC, travel by Martz?
Jwill: I do hope someone can answer your questions, which is more or less what I wanted to know also.
Thanks for the replies everyone! Maybe someone else can join in and let us know at least about the Sanford Airport??

My knowledge is limited but I do have some info. The inaugural flight was a couple of weeks ago . The aiport has catered to international flights but is trying to expand. The tickets are cheap but the service is good. I do have a realative on the airport commitee who flew on the inaugural flight. He was pleased with the service. This was a direct flight from sanford to abe.

I have tickets to go to Sanford with SouthEast Airlines in December, their promotion was because of the recent expansion to allentown but I will know about their service in December when I get back.
BTW I'm in the Poconos too....hi neighbors!!

DW and I have tickets for November. I have heard good things, but I will post a report when we get back. It sounded like a good deal, but only time will tell.

Mskanga, Hi from Effort, PA!

Did you make reservations for a pick up at Sanford? If so, with who? Any details you can supply will be appreciated. Have a Disney Day!

Milly

Milly;
I made a reservation for a car rental with dollar , I'm getting a compact car ( I'm going alone this time ) for $110.00 for five days all taxes included , I am picking it up at Sanford airport , I found that the transfers were just as expensive.
