For plane tickets? If so, do they let you pick out your seats?

Any other info, good or bad about them? Im very leary of using one of those places(Orbitz, Expedia, etc...) since I dont know very much about them.

Thanks!

I have used it often for initial searches but always buy my tickets from the airline itself. It is a great search engine, IMO.

I have used them 3 or 4 times.
Very good....always send you updates.
You can pick your seats (if their allotment isn't used up).

We have good luck with them. Also, try expedia.om. They are really good too.

Thanks for the info!
Dan I took your advice and went and checked out AA website after finding the flight on Orbitz. I was able to find the same flights for the same price, minus the $20.00 service charge.
We arent really sure if we should do this trip(Disney for Christmas) or not, but after finding this airfare, I am so tempted to book it now. :D I must be crazy!

Book now, book now! Just do it!!!

We used Orbitz last year, and used them to buy tickets for this coming trip!. So far, so good! We booked flights on USair both times, and the same itinerary on the USair site was $1000 more!! Needless to say, Orbitz saved us money.

We almost booked a Delta flight and it was the same price on the Delta website minus the Orbitz fees.

Go Go book book!!!
No peer pressure!

We used them for our last trip. There is one problem, if you have more than 4 tickets to purchase, you have to make separate orders. I purchased four, and then went right away and got one more. When I got to the submit button to purchase the same flight, a window popped up and said it was all sold out and pick another time. Well, needless to say, I totally freaked out! I called their 1-800 number to explain the problem and see if I could get a refund. She said this one time, they would refund it, but she tried to get one ticket on her end first for the same flights. She was lucky and booked me herself for the same flight as my family was flying.

I called United after all was done and we were on the manifest. They put our seats together and everything worked out great. Orbitz sent an email a for a change and then reminded us via email a few days ahead our itenerary again.

I would use them again if I could find decent prices. I found better prices with SWA for this year's trip.

I'm sure my experience was rare, but I won't ever use Orbitz again. Christmas 2001 we booked tickets on Orbitz to see my family at Christmas. E-tickets, got our confirmation, no problem.

A few days before Christmas, DH thought he would surprise me with tickets to Rome because they were so cheap on Orbitz. In-laws got involved, long story, but then DH was looking for tickets for all of us to London instead. He tried to buy several times, but was always told that the flight was sold out. The next morning he finds an e-mail from Orbitz that his parents had tickets. We called Orbitz, said that we were always given the message that tix were unavailable, never told that we had tickets until this a.m. and didn't want them since we would be traveling as a family and had already made other plans. We had to fight, but she finally cancelled my in-laws' tickets to London.

Two weeks later as we are boarding at the gate to go see my family in MI, the flight attendant won't let us on the plane. She says Orbitz issued us tickets, we showed her all of our documentation that said we were ticketless but she kept insisting that we weren't who we said we were and that we weren't going anywhere without giving her our tickets. We watched our plane depart. We went to the airline counter and they would do nothing since we bought through Orbitz. They were terribly rude, my husband was rude back, I cried. Finally, a really nice woman at the counter got a really nice supervisor who did a lot of calling for us.

Turns out Orbitz had cancelled our flight to MI when they cancelled our in-laws' flight to London. Orbitz was completely unapologetic for their mistake and wanted us to pay a ridiculous amount of money for new tickets. The Delta supervisor got his regional supervisor who approved a flight for us the next day at the original price we paid Orbitz. That Delta supervisor was our hero.

Yikes Malificent! What a nightmare!

Well, we did it! But with American Airlines, not Orbitz, so we saved $20.00. So it looks like a Disney Christmas & birthday for me!!!!:bounce:

Yes, you save $20, plus you can get ff miles with the airlines website. Not so with Orbitz. Have you flown AA before? LOTS of leg room in economy section.

Isn't there a special rate at the Dolphin and Swan for birthdays? Stay birthday nite for $99. or something I read about on the resort board once.

I think we share the same birthday date? Dec. 28?

Have fun,

herc.

No hercamore, Ive never flown AA. We usually go Delta which I really like. The one time we changed and went US Air, we had a bad experience. Since then Ive stuck with Delta. However, they wanted $412.00 for comparable flights and we got them for $225.00 on AA. Thanks for the reassurance about AA.

And yes, Im another Dec 28th. Thanks for the advice about the Dolphin and Swan. We will look into that. For now we plan to book ASMO, but we will watch if any AP rates or codes come out and then maybe we will upgrade. That birthday deal will help us decide in the end.
