Anyone ever use new luggage locks?

We use the O rings or twisty ties too.......after all what I've discovered is I'm not trying to keep snoopy hands out of my bags but my contents IN the bags. All too often our suitcases zippers catch on something and become unzipped so we use ties to keep them closed. :)

I went to WDW in January and Logan security made me leave the special locks unlocked. Defeats the purpose. On the way home, though, security at MCO said I could keep them on as long as I stood by while the suitcases went through the scanner, just in case they needed me to open them.

....that they made you take the locks off at Logan. If they try to make you do this next time ask to speak to a supervisor. The TSA approved locks are accessible by the security folks and therefore they should not need for you to take them off or even in the case of MCO "babysit" your luggage.

We used them back in November of 2004 (when it seems like they were still "new" to airports) and didn't have one person question us at STL when we left. However at MCO we showed the guy who was picking up our bags to put in the screener that basically these are TSA approved locks. His supervisor was close by so he asked him and they said it was fine - we didn't have to "wait" for them to run them through the screeners.

In any event - we picked ours up at the local AAA office and they are the key kind. Just make sure to get the ones with the approved seal/logo.
