We are going on a 5 day cruise before our upcoming Disney stay and am considering mailing down a package of things that I don't really want to lug on our cruise (coffee, coffee filters, ponchos, that sort of thing).

Anyone ever done this? I thought I read somewhere that hotels with a conference center charge for receiving a package. How much to they charge? Can anyone confirm this in regards to BLT?

Thank you!!:goodvibes

I haven't shipped a package but I know a number of people who were at a convention with me there shipped to the hotel. They do have a fee for picking up your package because all packages come in to the business center - not the front desk- you have to pay the business center and get your package during their open hours(normally 9am-5pm). Last I heard the charge was $10-$12 a box.

Thanks for the quick reply. I thought I might do it for a $5 charge, but I think for the few things I have I will just manage to stuff them into a corner of my suitcase!

I've done this. The fee was $5, but I think it depends on the size/weight of the package. I think the fee is either $5 or $10.

Five dollars would be okay with me. I think I will call the resort and find out. Thanks!

My mom just did this last week when we were at Bay Lake Tower and she was not charged a fee. The Check-In Desk looked in the back and it had already arrived (and they brought it out and handed it to us). It was shipped USPS and NOT FedEx or UPS so that may make the difference if there is a charge.

This is good to know. We are thinking of doing something similar for our trip in May.

That maybe true that if you ship USPS you may not be charged, but one thing I read was that if you ship USPS it has to go to a mail sorting facility at WDW where as FedEx and UPS go directly to the resort, so your lag time might be a bit longer for USPS.

Don't know if things have changed but I have mailed UPS to resort with no fees.
Resorts I have shipped to for free.
WLV
BCV
BWV
POFQ
SSR
YC

Always have it there a few days before I arrive....never a problem.....so far:upsidedow

My understanding is that it depends on how the package is routed. If it goes to the business center at a conference resort you will be charged. If the front desk receives the package then you will not be charged.

I have shipped to all of the DVC resorts over the past ten years. I have been charged the last few years only and that was at the DVC resorts which have convention centers attached.......BWV, BCV, and BLT. I believe our most current charge last January at BLT was $10....not sure. I have not been charged at AKV, VWL, SSR, or OKW nor VB.....have not been to HH. I believe it was about 3 or 4 years ago they began charging. However, if you are staying at the DVC resort, simply tell them at the front desk upon check-in that you have a package waiting for you (I always track it online so I know it has been delivered) and you would like it delivered to your room.......even if it is in a package room they will get it for you....may take a bit longer, but, you won't need to wait for business hours. We arrived at BWV one year on New Years Day.....in the evening, after a long flight delay......at first they couldn't find the package...when I produced the tracking number for them showing it had been delivered on 12/30 someone said "Oh I bet it's still in the package room at the convention center". They then tracked down security who had a key to the package room and a manager went down and got it and had it delivered to our room within an hour or so. My packages all weigh in the neighborhood of 20/25 lbs and I've been charged a flat amount every time I've been charged so I don't really know if it goes by weight since mine are all in the same range.

Well I will be shipping a package to BCV in April....I guess I shall see then. I hope I don't get charged but even if i do it is worth the convenience.
