anyone ever purchase dvc?

Did you have any regrets? I am seriously considering buying into AKV. But I often see resales. Just curious!

We looked into it, but it wasn't for us.

If your lawyer and accountant think it's a good deal, go for it!

You might try asking this on the DVC boards - you'll get a lot more responses. Good luck!

We have had no regrets at all as we LOVE going to WDW.

Just make sure you do too as that's the best value....Some people say using your points to go to other locales isn't always the best value.

Not only will you stay in nice accomodations, but you will probably go more often!

ETA-- Going more often may mean spending more $$$$$$$$$ then you would have had you not bought DVC.

We did and have not regretted it one bit. We have points at VWL and bought a few points through resale at HHI (we are only 3+ hours from Hilton Head).

It has been great for us. It has forced us to take nice vacations when we would otherwise not have. We are able to stay in great places when we would normally have stayed in a value or off site.

We did in 2004... we did resale and bought into OKW. No regrets at all! I just wish I had a few more points. I like AKV, but I keep hoping for CRV

With the way I vacation there it was the most cost effective way for me to go If you stay in moderates or deluxes and go often, it is definitely worth looking into.

We purchased into DVC and our only regret is we didn't do it sooner. We go to Disney once each year and stay for 6-8 nights each stay. Because we also have a child with special needs, we were staying in the villas anyway. We figured our breakeven point was around 7 years and since our special child would probably never "age out" of Disney, we could see annual trips for a very long time.

It was a no brainer for us.

We've got 3 week-long trips planned for this year:
7 nights in May at SSR
7 nights in August at BCV
7 nights Christmas week at SSR

We can't wait!!!
We would never be able to stay in Deluxes 3 times a year if we were not in DVC.

No need to get a lawyer and accountant involved though Cool-Beans It's fairly easy to figure out on your own if it's for you or not and there's nothing "hidden" about teh transaction. It's pretty straightforward. It's definitely not a sound financial investment. It's a vacation investment though

Stop by the DVC board here on the DIS and there are resales by the Timeshare store at the top (with listings). We, however, did not use them, we used another resale co. (Jaki's) and also had a good experience with her. I don't think I can link to hers from here but if you google DVC resales, her business will pop up for you.

Im not too concerned with the cost, we pay off my van in 2 months so we are just swapping a payment for a payment, and we love Disney, we plan just about every year! I think Im doing the right thing, just wanted to hear what others opinions are!
