We are staying at CR. Typically we stay at the Values because we go so many times a year. But once a year we treat ourselves. I would like to pay for the room in advance. They already have the 1st nights of course but I am wondering about paying the other nights now too. I don't really want to see a high credit card bill after the vacation thats mostly because of the resort. Especially when PC will probably be $49 a night during that time. (deep breath) but hey its a CR tower MK view (fingers crossed). We are calling it our "monorail" vacation. If we can't get to it by monorail then we aren't going. Meaning no MGM or AK.

Thanks for any suggestions,
Shirley:flower1:

DH and I booked 10 nights at CBR and I know that it states WDW only takes one nights deposit and you have to pay for the balance upon check-in; well, we went ahead anyway and send a $500 check at the beginning of May and it was indeed cashed - we sent our payment to 12698 Collections Center Drive, Chicago, IL 60693 (the address on the back of our reservation confirmation). When we called a couple of weeks later and spoke to CRO they told us what the balance was and it was correct - no mention of their payment rules so we are going to send the balance after we hear about any AP or room only codes.
Hope this helps!!

I always book in advace and pay it off before we go. I like to send a little each payday to help pay it off. I booked our trip in feb this year and everything is all paid in full now, we are just saving the spending money now!! I just call the 800# i used to book it, and then tell them i would like to make a payment to my res. After i make it, they send out an updated confirmation letter with the amount paid on it.

We pay in advance also, a night or two a month. We don't use credit cards and that would just be too big a hit all at once.

Our last couple of trips we have paid in advance. Once we even got a better code rate and ended up with a credit toward our room. It was great - of course we spent it on nicer dinners. Somehow or other Disney always ends up with the money.:teeth:

I always pay my room in advance. Usually I just make a copy of the confirmaition and send that with my check.
This year I used Dreams Unlimited because I was booking 3 rooms. I just used their website to pay on the rooms using my credit card, then I would just go on line and pay the credit card right away.
I like going on vacation and knowing that I will not have a huge credit card bill when I return home.

I just did that too. I made my payments as often as I could since September and I paid off 5 nights at the Beach Club and 5 nights at the Polynesian. It took me since September of last year, but I did it! :)

I just mentioned this on another thread. Does anyone know how it might work at SOG. I would like to pay it off before we arrive..

I always get a room only reservation and I have to pay my entire balance 45 days out. I kinda like it that way, at least that is taken care of before I leave for my vacation.

We always pay our room off in advance. Always! That way when we arrive we don't owe anything. I do it simple - I just call CRO and pay off the balance with my credit card. They will send you a confirmation of your payment but you have to ask! :earsgirl:

The first thing my husband asks me on the way to WDW is, "everything is paid for, right?" I truly believes this helps him enjoy our vacation more. We have been 3 times during the 1st 2 weeks of Dec. and it can be hard to do WDW and buy for Christmas.

Have a great trip.

Our trip is always paid before we leave. We like having everything paid before we arrive...room and tickets (we use APs).

Last year we paid our room only ressie in monthly payments starting in April 03 .It was paid in full when we got there. We did not have to worry about a credit card bill when we got home...
( or I should say...we did not have to worry about the room only portion of the bill.)

This year AP rates came out May 5....I already had the ressie. one nights deposit. When I converted to AP rate..we paid-in-full then with our AMEX while I was on the phone. If you can do it...go for it. That bill was paid in June 04.

Last year we were at POR for 10 nights...this year, starting August 11th, it will be 11 nights. We take some cash..about 1K...and then we get charges to our room key with the AMEX. Its so much easier.

We usually end up with about a $1000 AMEX bill afterwards from the room charges and also the national car rental bill which is about $300.

I usually keep my money in a savings account and then about 1 month before we go, I pay off the reservation :) That way I get to accumulate a tiny bit of interest on my savings! It's really nice not to see a huge bill after coming home from Disney.

We booked three rooms in May and when the confirmation came in the mail, I too sent a check to the Chicago address and paid off the account before we left. I don't having it on a credit card either and like the idea of just having food and fun money to deal with! We also got a better code by the time we left, had an adjustment done and a credit ended up being applied to our credit card deposit. That was a nice treat too!

It truly is a good feeling going on your trip knowing everything is paid for. We always pay ours in advance too. All we have to worry about when we actually go is some of the food (we even prepay some of that by using vouchers from Hotwire) and our car rental.

It's worked out wonderfully for us. I think I'd choke if I had to pay everything all at once or get a big fat bill when we get back.

Just a message to the original poster. You CAN get to Disney/MGM Studios without using a bus. You take the monorail to Epcot, go through Epcot, then exit Epcot through the International Gateway. From there, you can either walk or take a boat to the Studios.

However, just remember to get back over to Epcot before it closes to walk through the front to take the monorail back to your resort.!!

So everyone who mails their payments sends them to the Chicago address? How unDisneylike! I never imagined it would go anywhere but Florida.
