Anyone ever order from Schwans?

Just a side note on the internet ordering, lots of times they will have 5% off your total order of $30 or more for putting your order in via the internet. They also will send you specials sometimes when you register on the on line site. They offer lots of little bits off here and there. I think they do appreciate the repeat customer and as I said, our driver is great.

I put in an order via internet for Friday and got called to work. I simply left a check and a note, and he put everything in the basement freezer (we have an outside entry to basement) for me. So that still gave him his order ( I guess they get a certain commission on top of salary) and I still got my stuff while not even home.

For the newbies, give them a try and check out their website to get acquainted.

I don't know about your drivers, but my Schwan's guys drive these bigs rectangular yellow freezer trucks. I SWEAR they are the same ones as the trucks the Schwan's man use to drive out to our VERY RURAL home in Illinois back in the late 60's... It was a welcome site to see them again here in Hollister.

BTW.. these drivers are hard working fella's. Most of them work until 11pm or later. They try to get to the homes of families where both parents are commuters in this area.

ooo thought of a dessert treat... the Apple Flauta's.. my book group loves these....

Speaking of desserts...for my chocolate loving friends!

They just introduced a frozen hot chocolate cup which is delish! It comes in a pack of six and it lasted all of an hour in my parent's house this weekend.

The gorgeous little doll who helped me last week gave me his pager number. He told me whatever I needed just call and I can come and get it. It helps to have a buddy!

Wow, I just checked the site. They were offering 1st time customers a free meal with a $20 purchase. Not bad. I found several things I'd like to try but, it'll have to wait.

What's with the 'points' offered with some items?

Kim, the points are a new promotional gimick from Schwans.. it is a great way to promote using the internet to preorder items so that the driver's truck is stocked with necessary items.

There should be a link on the site, the items offered for points include $10 toward Schwans purchase, Tupperware, kitchen equipment, stuff like that... By next week I will have enough points for the $10 award.. that is just after two internet orders.

I think it is a nice promotion.. I like it when they take 5% off the bill too.

I haven't used him yet but there's a guy that comes by our office every 2 weeks and several of my friends have. When I saw the question about points I thought you meant WW points! This guy knows the WW points on his food. Or his treats anyway, because that's what my friends are buying! I'll have to give him a try!

Every other Wednesday, come rain or come shine, the wonderful Schwans Guy Willie comes to our door! Try the pork chops, they are unbelieveable. My dog got hold of the last one on the platter last week and we wanted to strangle him! But he sure did enjoy it. Willie is a part of our family now! We are usually last on his route late on Wednesday nite, because he knows I get home aruond 8:30, and he stays and visits, my kids think of him as a kind of uncle!! Woo Hoo Schwanns! and they have Great ice cream!

The free meal is how I got hooked!!

They were advertising on a radio station here and I just knew there had to be a catch. I called and ordered this so called "free meal" thinking that they'd probably charge me SOMETHING....

Not a DIME!

And the meal was unbelievably delicious!

I got all of my co-workers and my family to try them out. The next meal came with a $20 off a $40 order. Now I don't care about the cost because I cannot find anything in the grocery store to match their quality! They have totally spoiled us!

LOL mickey4ever about the cute driver... He's about HALF my age but just aDORable! His name is Gabriel and I swear he looks like an angel!

Just checked out their website. Looks really good, and sounds like a lot of you really like their products. Think I just might give them a try. Today is the first day Oberweiss Dairy is starting to deliver my milk. I can be the "delivery queen" of the neighborhood!
