The food thread the other day has firmly planted Tigger Tails in my brain....I can almost taste them....damn you Tigger!

I make them once or twice a year. They take me a full day so it's rare I have that kind of time to commit to them but they are wonderful, just like the old ones used to be. I haven't tried the new sugared ones yet. If you do attempt to do them just make sure you find an orange oil with no alcohol in it so that it won't ruin the chocolate. I also use the orange chocolate to make the mickey pumpkin caramel apples too!

....musical ear worm cannot get them off the brain! Just might have to go for it, with our last trip all done and nohing planned now.

I just made some this past weekend. Unfortunately they went so fast I didn't get time for pictures! Here's what I did.

Melted 1 bag of Kraft Caramel Bits in microwave while I pushed large marshmallows onto lollipop sticks.

Used large spoon to spoon melted caramel onto marshmallows while holding them over the bowl (this works better than the 'dip it' method). Make sure to turn the marshmallow stick to coat evenly.

Set caramel-coated marshmallow stick on parchment paper (on tray).

When done caramel coating, stick tray in fridge for 90 minutes.

After 90 minutes, melt candy-making chocolate in microwave. Use the 'spooning method' once more to coat marshmallows. Set back down on parchment paper. Immediately sprinkle with desired topping (colored sugar, sprinkles, etc.). Since I was making holiday treats, I used red and green 'Christmas tree' sprinkles.

No need for fridge, They'll harden in about a minute. And about a minute after that they'll be gone!

I only made 1 batch of 8 because this was my first attempt (I'd never done it before) and it worked out really well. I'm going to do another batch the weekend before Christmas, wrap them up and give them as presents!

I picked up supplies on the weekend...kids figure it should be a disney theme food weekend and baked potato soup à la Carnation Café needs to made too!

Cannot wait to try.

Do you have a recipe for Carnation Cafe's baked potato soup? I just had some 12 days ago at DLR and I'm craving it again :rotfl2:

So...a tigger tail is basically a caramel, orange chocolate covered marshmallow?

I make different versions of them a few times a year.

They are always a huge hit when DS brings them to school. He normally takes some for his friends on Halloween and Valentines Day. I may make them for his birthday next weekend.
